We were lucky to catch up with Joseph Donofrio recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Joseph, thanks for joining us today. What’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
“DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR” Mixed Martial Arts and Boxing Promoters have no honor, integrity nor respect for the sport, the fighters, managers of those and a total disregards for the giving the spectators a well balance, night of entertainment. Many in this industry are only promoting events to claim a profit and divert that claim to pay taxes who are really in the Marijuana industry. They do not care about presenting a good quality, evenly matches bouts.

Joseph, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a fight promoter for the past 30 years, my business practices and discipline have garnered me nationwide respect. I am fair with everyone I come in contact with, albeit; fighters, managers, trainers, the venues. Being fair doesn’t always equate to treating individuals or the groups they represent, evenly. They choose how to respond & react to guidelines I set forth to create a mutual understanding and respect of one another. I have never failed in my obligations to pay, treat with respect and welcome any fighter or any fight camp.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Being resilient in the world of combat sports is something everyone who has the interest in becoming a professional Boxing or Mixed Martial Arts licensed promoter must have or “Thick Skin”. The backstabbing, the underlying threat of harm, the dishonor is all a part of this industry. If you have a weak mind, weak backbone, you won’t survive in this industry. Many, hundreds, have come and gone. Few are left standing.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Honor and Integrity. A true dying breed, a man who does what he says he will do.
