Alright, Jose thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

JJ Art and Design Productions is our baby. JJ Gonzalez Acosta and I started this platform where art has been the main protagonist. We have shared beautiful stories told through artists and entrepreneurs in and outside of the country. We have also shared wonderful stories told through the magnificent world of visual and performing arts. Our goal is to help others discover their artist within.

In 2019, we produced The Lion King Jr. and Frozen Jr. with a special arrangement with Musical Theatre International in a local fine arts academy.

Working with kids and seeing them perform on stage was beautiful. Seeing them trust themselves and share their talent was a highlight that we will never forget. These two shows led to the creation of a Musical Theater Program in the Academy, and a program where kids not only get to perform but learn the importance of doing what they feel most passionate about.

We are currently working on producing “Barbara – The Enchantress of the Grasslands,” a story told through the Venezuelan Nationalist Dance. We are blessed to be working with the beautiful and talented professional dance company Isladanza Venezuela Arte & Cultura in this adaptation of “Doña Barbara,” a Venezuelan novel. A book that was first published in 1929 and then became a reference in Latin America. This story premieres at the Mandell Theater in The Orlando Shakes on October 9th at 6 pm.

In the creative world, having the creative freedom to express feelings and a powerful message is a must.

Jose, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

JJ and I have been able to share our talents in developing stories every day. We put our hearts and souls into everything we do. JJ is a visual artist and an art educator, he has focused on sharing his talent with students of all ages.

I am an Entertainment Business Professional and Journalist. I have focused my career on performing and visual arts. Also, I am currently an Online Professor for MIU City University Miami where I teach Creative Writing.

Our brand represents art, it is a platform for storytelling.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The audience’s reaction to the stories that we tell are priceless. The handprint that we leave in their lives and how they can remember their experience is the most rewarding aspect of being an artist.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?

We are constantly working on being a better version of ourselves. Working on us makes us grow, and it makes our brand have significant growth. There is a book that we are currently working on. “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron. It provides tools for personal and professional growth. It is a 12-week course that will impact your life personally and professionally.
