We were lucky to catch up with Jose Pinky recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jose thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Looking back on your career, have you ever worked with a great leader or boss? We’d love to hear about the experience and what you think made them such a great leader.
Well yes my current boss actually her name is vane , funny story I’ve known her since 2006 she was my boss then at a boutique we worked together , we lost contact after we parted ways from the store, so couple of years later I worked for the same boutique again and her mom was a client of mines and vane had her own boutique , so I told her mom tell vane I say hiiii, long story short vane contacted me and basically dragged me to work for her which I ran , so i became the manager/stylist of her boutique store , but after the pandemic she shut the store down and she took me in to be her stylist and creative director for her online business , she’s just an inspiration the way she leads her business and has so much love and creativity which inspires me, she’s taught me a lot in life and fashion, not only is she my boss but she’s also family my best friend .
Jose, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well I’ve always been a creative artistic person , growing up in Miami, I struggled socially and academically, but I thrived in creative spaces like arts, music, fashion, I’ve always had a thing for fashion growing up, especially in the 90s early 2000s fashion was just everything to me, Seeing these celebrities dressed in designers and really getting deeper in the designs and behind the scenes seeing the stylist really work with the artists really made me want to become one, so that’s how I really started getting into styling myself by learning the arts of fashion and really getting to know the person to style on and have that connection with the client. And that’s how I do with my clients now I really get to know them and feel for what they want and look for the occasion , or photo shoot , I just love making them feel themselves and confident and wild free sexy and just feel happy, As a stylist now working for a brand ( diva boutique ) has opened doors for me which I’m grateful for , it has taught me a lot , the meaning of working hard and being determined in what I love doing. I’m proud on how far I’ve gotten and thankful for the people around me everyday.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Well it’s all about Engagement , having building your social media it’s like having a part time job, you always have to stay consistent, I try to give my audience atleast three post a week but sometimes it’s just a lot especially when i already have a full time job, it’s a sacrifice but you always have to deliver,
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
How I keep in touch is by building relationships with my clients I’m a very humorous funny down to earth person so I tend to always get along with my girls so it builds a bond between us and you know we go out we have fun and eventually become friends
