We were lucky to catch up with Jose Guzman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jose , thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
One of my meaningful projects right now is doing my talk show called “The Jose Show” which is currently on instagram, where I get to talk all things about celebrities and entertainment since I always love to entertain people with my stories about celebrities and I always love to make people laugh especially. This project of mine has marked a huge highlight in my life since it has helped me grow as an artist and as a person since I am able to express myself in so many ways and let people know that I am a someone in life. I have also gained alot more attention by doing this lovely talk show of mine and I will forever be grateful for this beautiful opportunity.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Jose Guzman, I am a talk show host and have my own show called “The Jose Show” which is currently on my instagram where I get to talk all things about celebrity gossip since it’s something I have loved to do since I was in High School, what first inspired me to become a talk show host was watching the talk show “The Real” since that show was so funny and amusing by having to see how the ladies in that show would share their stories and opinions on things that I ended up starting my own plans to become a talk show host back then. I was also already into the celebrity gossip back then and I was already wanting to be in the entertainment business so bad and be just like all those celebrities especially because I kind of considered myself to be outspoken when I was in high school with all of my friends when it came to the jokes, the gossiping and even the drama but I knew that I needed to get my education first so I ended up going to Riverside City College were I majored in Communications and learned so much on what it’s like to be a talk show host. Whenever I would do my speeches for communication class, I would always practice on how I should talk and express in front of an audience in order to be prepared for my speeches and as a talk show host that it even started giving me more power and confidence on being a talk show host. Now that I’ve been doing my talk show, I have been so outspoken towards my viewers in order to make a positive impact in other people’s lives since I want to influence other people into thinking big and doing big in life since it is really important to me. So far, I am so proud of how far I have become as a talk show host with my show because now I feel like I am putting my heart to this show since I’m actually being myself and have always loved to make people laugh especially with my jokes and stories that I would talk about. I am currently going to University of California Riverside were I am working in getting a bachelor’s degree in Media and Cultural Studies and am working towards getting more experience in the Talk Show business and I am looking forward to go further in life with that degree by becoming a bigger talk show host and getting a big talk show just like “The Real” or the “Sherri” show and hopefully be able to interview big artists since it has also been one of my biggest dreams that I still am not giving up on.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Society should be more motivating and less harsh, because the more that there are people out there that tell artists and creatives how much they can achieve in life, the more it will make them feel that they can achieve so many other things that then they will end up doing better and bigger things for their projects and their future especially. I also think that criticism is also good but to a limit as long there are no cruel judgements nor insults being involved especially when it comes to artistic things artists and creatives try their very best in.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience on social media by constantly posting episodes of my show on instagram and by posting alot of relevant hashtags that would also help boost my audience. After doing all of that, I have been pretty well noticed by several accounts on instagram including celebrities that have complimented my show and I feel so proud. For those of you that are starting to build in audience, first of all be yourself on what your doing, I also highly recommend posting entertaining content constantly and putting highly relevant hashtags in order to grow an audience and be highly noticed, it is not really easy but it can be done all you got to have is patience.
