We recently connected with Jorj Lemay and have shared our conversation below.
Jorj , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your career and how did you resolve those issues?
During my first year of graduate school, my laptop’s motherboard overheated and became irreparable. From October to February, I was unable to produce any music or create short-form videos. It was a challenging period, but looking back, it was also a time of growth and learning. I spent five months without a laptop, during which I did everything I could to save enough money for a new one. I worked at a casino, eventually leaving once I had saved enough. In the meantime, I continued to write songs in my journal and on my phone’s notes app, collaborate with others to help write and produce their work, and shared insights on my experiences through my second Instagram account. To sum it up, I felt a sense of urgency during that time, but ultimately things worked out in the end.

Jorj , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
First, my name is Jorj (George). I am a Producer and Media Curator. I got into music through my older brother. One night, he was using FL Studio while I was doing my homework, and I asked him if I could try it out later. The next day, he loaded up FL Studio for me and said, “Give it a try.” The rest, as they say, is history. I have been learning how to make beats ever since that day, from sixth grade until now, and I still consider myself a student in this field.
– The type of service I provide involves helping creators achieve their desired sound and style in music. This can involve creating beats with the artist, finding elements that they are missing (both internally and externally), or connecting their flow and sound in a cohesive way.
I am most proud of being a producer and staying on course with music. I love everything about it: creating, producing, recommending, listening, and collecting (especially vinyl records). It’s amazing to be able to listen to emotions expressed through instruments – it’s a beautiful thing.”

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My mission is to meet The Neptunes (Chad Hugo and Pharrell). As for my goal, it’s more focused on finding my own sound through their influence, and to help artists find themselves in the music.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Witnessing the growth of the creator/artist relationship is truly rewarding. Internally, we have the ability to achieve great things together. By providing a sound that allows creators/artists to express themselves, I find satisfaction in building a foundation for success, even if we start as strangers. Ultimately, we’re all human beings working towards a common goal.” By providing a sound that allows creators/artists to express themselves, I find satisfaction in building a foundation for success, even if we start as strangers.
