We were lucky to catch up with Jorie Blake Rosen recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jorie Blake thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
I am an Actress /Singer /Songwriter. What I love about what I do is telling a story, especially with my songwriting. I like to write songs that send positive messages and that deal with important issues. My most recent release is a song called #mytime.
#mytime is a song about bullying and learning to celebrate who you are! It is very meaningful to me cause it is an issue that a lot of people, and kids especially have had to deal with. It is a topic I am very passionate about and want to help make a change.
Don’t let bullies take you down. You are unique! Celebrate who you are and what you are good at!
My goal is for everyone to do a post, #mytime, and show the world what makes them special!

Jorie Blake , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well as my Mom says, I was born to be a performer. I started working in the industry as a child model when I was young and started live theater at the age of 3 years old. My first role was playing Abu in Aladdin. At the age of 6 years old I started working a bit more in TV and Film and booked my first movie at 7 years old. Since then I have worked on a bunch of Film, Television and Theater Projects.
When Covid struck is when I developed my love for songwriting. I got a bit down not being able to perform, see my friends, go to camp so I started writing my thoughts and feelings down in a journal. I am not really sure, but through that I was able to write my first song called Make Your Own Music. My mom signed me up for a few songwriting classes so I could learn how to structure a song and my music kind of took off from there.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I LOVE bringing happiness and joy to people through my art. Whether it be on Stage, TV or through my music. To share a story with the world, to bring out emotion from people, or just make them laugh it is so rewarding. Just to share my heart with the world.

: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I think my goal is to keep creating. To keep writing and performing and see where it takes me in life. I love what I do. I love getting to meet new people, working on sets and learning from other performers and having life experience that help give me songwriting ideas.
My family has always been into charity and giving back. I’ve been very involved with charities since I was very little. Even with all my songs: I work with a company called Play It Forward. Every download of a song donates to the charity I have chosen to work with.
A long term mission would for me to create my own charity to help raise money for a cause. There are a lot of causes I am passionate about, so I still need to figure how I can help give back.
