We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jorgymar Pumar a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jorgymar, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
The best reflection about how to be successful is about consistency and preparation, which are valuable and resonate with many seeking personal and professional growth. As I mentioned, discipline can often surpass intelligence, as consistent dedication is key to achieving goals.
Knowing oneself and discovering what we are passionate about is fundamental; this self-awareness allows us to direct our efforts toward what truly matters and motivates us. The most important competition is undoubtedly with ourselves. Celebrating our achievements, no matter how small fuels our confidence and drives us to keep moving forward.
Valuing the present is another crucial aspect. Life unfolds in the now, and learning to live fully enables us to seize every opportunity and face each challenge with a positive mindset.
Finally, gratitude transforms our perspective, opening doors to new opportunities and experiences. Being thankful for what we have and learned along the way strengthens us.
Moving on regardless of circumstances or people—leaning on discipline, self-awareness, and gratitude—prepares us to face challenges and reach our goals. It’s a journey of continuous and enriching growth!

Jorgymar, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a Venezuelan lawyer with over 20 years of experience in my country. My professional journey spans from courts to the oil industry, where I stood out for my unwavering commitment to acting under the law. This dedication led me to hold significant positions, such as Legal Manager for various joint ventures and a member of the Contracting Commission.
As an immigrant, I had faced many ups and downs, and understanding the challenges many encounter, I decided to formalize my studies as an Immigration Forms Preparer and Paralegal. Driven by my passion for serving others, I began offering my services to the immigrant community, helping them complete the necessary forms to enter and remain legally in the U.S.
Focusing on excellence, I registered my brand as JP Migra Serv., LLC, formalizing my venture and providing my clients with the security and trust they deserve. My commitment to the community and my legal expertise are a tremendous asset for those seeking to establish themselves legally in the USA.
The main reasons for starting my business were motivation and helping other people. My passion for serving could not be silenced, and seeing the immigrant community needing immigration relief within the US led me to investigate how I could effectively provide my professional services legally. It was then that I found immigration institutes or organizations that prepared me for the immigration world with the purpose of helping others effectively and professionally.
My business’s contribution to the Latino community has been mainly to help people who require it to prepare formal applications before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services Department (USCIS) for all immigration forms that apply to their particular case and thereby obtain immigration relief that benefits them. Thus, they increase their chances of entering, working, and remaining legally within the US.
This fact brings me satisfaction because I am instrumental in helping others achieve their American dream and legally fulfill their goals.
I provided many services to the immigrant community: Asylum, TPS, EAD, Adjustment of Status, Consular Processing, Citizenship, Removal of Conditions, EB2-NIW Visa, and more.
Actually, I have an alliance with Acevedo Law Firm working as a Paralegal of Milton Toro Attorney to help more people.
As an Immigration Form Preparer and Paralegal of Milton Toro Attorney, I can’t provide legal advice because I’m not an Attorney in the USA. If the customer needs any advice I can schedule an appointment with Milton Toro Attorney from Acevedo Law Firm, and the customer can talk with the Immigration Attorney for any advice.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
My book, Discovering How to “Move On,” no matter the circumstances or people, motivated me to continue. How to see the positive side of everything and understanding that everything happens for a reason with a learning purpose leads me to understand that we all come to this world with a purpose and that nothing will take us away from it. It will only depend on us if the purpose is fulfilled in the required time or more slowly. Another book that helped me a lot is How to Help People by Chuck Lynch, an inspiring book that shows us that our mistakes can be used for our growth and maturity and that they will help others who also go through the same thing.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
My biggest challenge has been entering the world of entrepreneurs, which includes social networks. Hahaha, God! How difficult it has been for me, perhaps because of the fear of the new and unknown and because it is a world foreign to my professional diary in Venezuela, which was very low profile and had nothing to do with making myself known or promoting the services of my business. I went from being low profile to publicly visible.
I am sure that meeting so many women within Latina Entrepreneurs in Indiana who, like me, have the firm will help me move forward regardless of the circumstances or the people who helped me overcome that challenge.
That definitely motivated me to continue and take this challenge as an opportunity to venture professionally into what I am truly passionate about, such as helping and serving others in the immigration legal field.
The professionalism and contributions of Latina Entrepreneurs in Indiana through courses and fairs have given me enough confidence to accept each challenge with the importance it deserves.
Being part of the Latina Entrepreneurs in Indiana who support and help each other shows the material that Latinas are made of. We are a team!
I have always maintained that the best thing that can happen is that we all do well, each in her professional field, standing out for serving our immigrant community excellently.
The challenge has been overcome, and with joy and happiness, I can tell you that it has been one of the most satisfying experiences I have had.
Just look for someone professional who can help in the social media area.
