We recently connected with Jorge Cespedes and have shared our conversation below.
Jorge, appreciate you joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Our brand name is Olive Juice, a name that has many hidden meanings within; to start with, we love the fact that when you say “olive juice” to someone from far away, it looks like you are saying “I love you” and that makes sense for us because our business is routed in love. The love of sharing a meal with a friend, family member, co-worker or even a stranger. The love of helping people discover that they actually DO love olives or that a creamy blue cheese pairs incredibly well with some local wildflower honey.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
The Brand is inspired by French patisseries, luxury mediterranean hotels, and beautifully done interior designed craft cocktail bars that make you wish you were there the moment you see that photo of it.
What sets us apart is that not only do we bring exquisite food, but we make charcuterie an experience. We love when people get excited by how beautiful our station is and they are curious to try out new flavors. As a chef, Jorge elevates the ingredients beyond what you can just buy at a store. For example, lemon marinated olives, rosemary & honey whipped goat cheese, strawberry tarragon jam. Food should be exciting, it should be an adventure and we are passionate about sharing that with others.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Finding the right partner do build our dream cart/station: Jorge designed every inch of this cart/station, grabbing inspiration from places he’d worked at as a chef and places that inspire him as a customer and fan of luxury location with a purpose. After searching the internet, we interviewed a couple of businesses and landed on one just outside of L.A., California. A small husband and wife shop that felt right. Jorge made a very detailed powerpoint presentation that explained the creative design of the cart ion every aspect, to the point that they said “wow, we’ve never received anything like this, it’s great, we wish every customer gave us this level of explanation for their designs”. Once we got rolling with them, they proved to be the right partner, they went above and beyond to give us exactly what we wanted and more.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Our strategy for this is simple, be professional, go above and beyond of what the client expects from you and finally do what you do best and do it right. Once a couple of events happen, people start talking about the experience, the quality of the food and overall feel of it. They share with their friends and the ball gets rolling.
