We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jordynn Bell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jordynn below.
Jordynn , appreciate you joining us today. Do you manage your own social media?
When it comes to social media I have pretty much stuck with Instagram and TikTok. I manage my own social media and it is actually very fun to me. When it comes to reels I would say I can now do it with my eyes closed. I have pretty much taught myself the basics, thought outside of the box, and gathered inspo from digital creators with high engagement! Learning from what works vs what doesn’t really teaches me a lot on what to improve. I do not let myself get too upset on the number of likes but rather motivated. The videos that I just enjoy making, am proud of and do not stress too much over have been the ones that have taken off. I have a few videos that banked 20k+ views and I was shocked. I thought “oh so this is how it works?” I literally just sat back and received lots of attentions by likes. Now I am learning how to turn those likes into followers and those followers into new clients (more business). I recommend watching YouTube videos and at least investing in 1 marketing course. That is what I did. I invested almost about a grand of money with the ‘Influence Master Course’ taught by Catarina Mello (@professionaltraveler on instagram.) I learned a few things that worked and some that did not…and that’s okay. See, I have multiple pages and that is I think what side tracks me sometimes. Since I have a pretty unpredictable schedule with my full-time modeling and acting endeavors, so my business will have its slow periods. Oh yea, hi, I am an event planner and I have had a passion of event planning jumpstarted in me since I was maybe 13.

Jordynn , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Jordynn Bell and I have loved event planning with my mom since I was a pre-teen. I was an only child all the way up to 12 years old so I have 4 younger siblings. Safe to say I was involved and the co-planner in every birthday party, graduation, group play dates etc. I enjoyed being creative coming up with themes, colors, location, decoration and best of all coming up with the menus! My business is called Visions N’ Vibes. Right now my generation is all about ‘vibes’, that is the foundation that we use to decide whether to embrace or avoid something. That word sort of came to me then I believe everyone has a different perspective that makes them uniquely them so there came ‘vision.’ Put those two together and it just describes me. From birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, prom parties, gender reveals, weddings, restaurant dinner parties and romantic hotel nights we got you! What sets me apart is that I can be as hands on or hands off as someone needs me to be with their event. It isn’t a one price meets all, and I can accommodate down to your specifics. If you just need help with the venue selection, a couple of caterer options, or even down to an hour of research to just get you started. I love to just help people and I like to work together rather be in total control. February 2022, I decided to take my ideas and make it a reality. No matter how small I started I was proud of what I created. I developed the business plan, my motto, packages, my logo, business cards/merchandise and created a contract as well as a business account. That alone showed me that I can move forward with something after making excuses for so long. Being an entrepreneur is no joke and they might even work harder because it just never stops. I really want people to know you have to start somewhere and building that organic following along with getting that first booking is a feeling like no other. No matter what, someone will see you!
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I love reading! I am big on suspenseful-thriller books as well as books that teach me how to master my money. The top books that are significant to me are ‘You are a Bad Ass at Making Money’ by Jen Sincero and ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ by Robert T Kiyosaki. A co-worker gave me the book by Jen Sincero and I finished it within 4 days. I love how she talks in first person and the language is no filter. She makes it as if she is talking directly to you and just straight calling you out. I love the entire “You are a Bad Ass” Collection by her, and it really helped me eliminate my excuses and just go for it. I do not think everyone has to be entrepreneur and for a while I was totally okay with working for someone. However I do not even consider my event business work as it is something I truly love. I fall right into planner mode and sometime give out ideas willingly without even first having that professional consultation as it is just second nature. ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ is awesome as I am not sure I know anyone that hasn’t at least heard of the title. It has been published for a long time and it really resonates with my younger self. The visual graphs that are drawn are what impacted my mindset tremendously. I am a visual learner and while I am a good listener I am even better at understanding better what I see in front of me. Both are MUST READS.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
This is a tough one as I like to grow my clientele organically. I have hundreds of business cards made but I am not one when I meet someone to always take them out. Even if there is a vibe or connection it for some reason does not come across my mind to talk about my business or share my information. Since I truly love it and it makes me happy it is often hard for me to realize it is an actual business I am trying to grow and not just a hobby that I am good at. What I have done to be more intentional is put a stack of business cards in each purse I own and tons in my car so I can know every time I go out I have a mission to achieve. I look at it as, I never leave the house without a purse therefore each time I step foot outside someone will learn about my business. I go to events weekly through my modeling jobs, acting auditions, and Yelp foodie events as I love food blogging. These events have amazing people who have their own visions so me bringing up Visions N’ Vibes is seamless. With modeling I am fortunate to get several opportunities. By mentioning that I can be an asset as well as bring value with my multiple talents is what will sustain my work long term. The conversations have been easier and me promoting myself has been rewarding. No matter what I gain something out of it and it gives me a sense of accomplishment.
