We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jordanne Pallesen a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jordanne , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I believe success requires persistence and a commitment to consistent action. You need to move forward every day, even if it’s just one small step toward your goal. Whether it’s growing your business, hiring new team members, building connections, or pitching yourself to your favorite podcast, the key is to stay in motion. Another crucial factor is having crystal-clear goals. Do you want to build a massive company, or are you aiming for more flexibility? Knowing exactly what success looks like for you is essential.
Another important aspect of success is the willingness to pivot in your business and service offerings. For example, during the pandemic, I launched a PR Training Program to teach business owners and their teams how to execute their own PR. With the shift toward online learning, it was a great fit at the time. However, as things returned to normal, I noticed a shift — business owners were no longer as interested in learning PR themselves; instead, they were seeking done-for-you services. Recognizing this, I created my PR Membership, a monthly program designed to position business owners as industry thought leaders through strategic media relations. This pivot allowed me to meet the evolving needs of my clients while continuing to help them achieve their goals.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Jordanne Pallesen, APR, a PR and communications professional with over 15 years of experience working both in-house and at public relations agencies.
As a mother of two young boys, I bring the same nurturing approach to my work with clients – always leading with honesty and transparency.
I pride myself on offering creative, customized solutions that meet each client’s specific needs. Throughout my career, I’ve successfully launched both digital and traditional marketing campaigns, boosted brand awareness, and crafted impactful messaging. Before founding my own company, I held various leadership positions, including Director of Arizona at Olive Creative Strategies, Chief Marketing Officer at My Amelia James, and Communications Director at Venesco. I’ve also secured hundreds of top-tier media opportunities for clients in outlets such as Forbes, Vice, CNBC, Cheddar, NBC News, InStyle, Men’s Health, and more.
I love working with female founders and industry experts to help them elevate their personal brand through media relations. I truly believe there’s no better form of marketing than PR to position yourself as a thought leader. In 2024, I created a PR Membership specifically for thought leaders and service-based business owners who want to increase their credibility and visibility.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
I started my company as a side hustle in 2014, working after hours balancing white-labeling (partnering with other PR agencies) and consulting for small businesses. Over the years, my commitment to the business ebbed and flowed, but everything changed in 2019 when I made the decision to go all in. I remember going for a run and repeating to myself, ‘You can do this’ over and over. That moment marked my full commitment, and I haven’t looked back since.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I was part of a very successful clothing company that skyrocketed but came crashing down just as fast. It was one of the biggest devastations of my career — personally, professionally, and physically draining. The fall was hard, but I didn’t let it stop me. I got back up, shifted my focus, and kept moving forward. There was no time to sit and wallow; I had to keep going. That’s when I decided to go all in on my PR firm, and I’m so glad I did.
