We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jordan Walker a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jordan, appreciate you joining us today. Do you take vacations? Why or why not?
Do I take vacations!? OF COURSE! One of the best things about being your own boss is you can take vacations whenever you want to! ;)
You get so burnt out trying to plan vacations around all of your other coworkers and get stressed out if you don’t have enough PTO if you’re working for something else or a big company. Very thankful that I’m able to do so and not have to worry or stress about vacationing!

Jordan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Jordan Walker, the face behind Walker Aesthetics! I got started in the aesthetics industry in 2019 while working at a dermatology office, but before then I’ve always been OBSESSED with the skincare and beauty. After working in dermatology aesthetics I decided to go solo in May of 2021 and it was the best decision I’ve ever made!
I love to educate my clients first and foremost…it’s just a plus that I also give them confidence and make them feel extra beautiful! Getting that text after a facial treatment or after a lash service saying they’ve never felt or looked better just makes me do a happy dance every time!
I would say I’m most proud of how much I’ve grown as a person and as a business in only one year. I wouldn’t have imagined such success in that time frame but now I feel I can only go up from here!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
If you’re a small business owner then you know social media is a BEAST. I swear social media is a full time job in itself. I would say the biggest thing that I’ve learned with social media is you ALWAYS have to be present. Whether it’s posting on your feed, interacting with other creators, posting stories, creating interactive stories. YOU HAVE TO DO IT. I’ve also found that followers love to see the face behind the business so don’t be afraid to hop on your feed! It creates a connection that social media followers really enjoy.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I would say the best source of new clientele for me would be word of mouth. If one of my regulars really enjoys their time and treatments with me they are 100% going to send in new clientele!
