We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jordan Vergara. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jordan below.
Alright, Jordan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Who is your hero and why? What lessons have you learned from them and how have they influenced your journey?
My hero is my father. He’s one of the reasons I sparked interest into photography as well, growing up he’d always have a camera/camcorder to capture memories of my siblings and I. Being young and not thinking about, you realize it was done to look back on as time goes on. He’s taught me so many things in my life that I will cherish, and try to pass down to my son.
Jordan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello, my name is Jordan and I’m a photographer! I began my journey in January of 2021, I specialize in portrait photography, but I do love to cover event photography as well! Starting my own business was definitely nerve wrecking and I’m just happy on where it’s taken me since I began. Opening a business of any kind could be very scary because there will be a chance it will fail, but how I looked at it was just having to be patient. It’s a time consuming, and at times a stressful field of work. Having a support system is so important, they’re the ones that’ll drive you to keep going. Good things take time to figure out!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being a photographer is rewarding in itself! There is no better feeling than executing the task, as well as delivering great work back to your clients. Knowing I made special memories for people to look back on makes it all worth it in the end. I’ve met many people along my journey that I’m truly grateful to have been able to work with.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
In the world we live in now social media is so important. For myself that’s what has made me grow my clientele thus far. Word of mouth from people you know helps so much when trying to build a business. Advice I could give is be proud of your work, it won’t be perfect to begin with all you need is an opportunity, you need to be consistent with promoting yourself on any kind of social media it will truly take you further than you think just from a simple share of a post of yours from a peer.
