We recently connected with Jordan Trask and have shared our conversation below.
Jordan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry?
Branding is not marketing and marketing is not sales. Trying to persuade people all the time with flashy objects or misleading statements is embarrassing. What happened to consumer understanding and purposed content with value? Everything appears to involve an ask and it’s selfish. Corporations are in business because of the buyer not at the buyer’s expense.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve always been fascinated by unethical advertising and a consumer’s refusal to think for themself. After studying mass communications, I realized the most successful companies are simply able to persuade the best. I wanted to bring meaning and substance back to the marketing industry. Climbing the ladder in corporate America only made me hate “fake it til you make it” even more. But working in the agency realm and at a handful of start ups didn’t itch my scratch, Cookie cutter options and poorly tuned strategies made me feel as though everyone was only it business for themselves. Not many care about building a true brand culture.. But this is mainly true because they don’t understand the advantages. So I set out to educate the marketplace and help people PreFocus before treating everything like a sale. At the end of the day, buying loyal customers and following trends isn’t sustainable. Frankly, it’s not valuable or fulfilling at all!
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I’d like to eventually open up a center or space for creative workshops and content development that my entire family can be a part of. Although I’m skilled at straightening out brand strategies, I’m passionate about being present for my wife and kids. Any way I can mold my success into something more family orientated is where my heart is.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I officially launched, it was less than ideal circumstances. While I had been building out the concept for quite some time, I never could escape salary dependency. I was afraid to take a leap that could affect my 6 kids. But when my last employer was raided by the FBI for medicare fraud, I was let go and had no choice. Problem was, I was on day 12 of a 9 month shoulder surgery recovery program. This completely blindsided me and it was a tough road just to get my confidence back. I felt like a failure and struggled to communicate a solution that surrounded my passion. Even today, I’m still ironing out the kinks of my initial desperation. But I’ve had a lot of success because I stuck with it and never gave up once God gave me the opportunity. I’ll do anything to not relinquish being present at home.
