Alright, Jordan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.

When I started my career almost 15 years ago I knew I wanted to become the best hairstylist I could. After working in Boston my hometown I knew i wanted more. I decided that New York City was where I needed to be so I packed up my aunts car and moved to New York not knowing anyone. I was lucky that a hairstylist in my apartment building was friends with an owner of a one of new York’s tops salons and helped me get my foot in the door.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

From a young age I always wanted to hair. I use to go to the hair salon with the grandmother and was always infatuated with watching everyone get their hair done. I got into this industry over a decade ago and spent my first few years assisting some one of biggest stylist in the game. Ive always been fascinated with cutting and styling hair and that’s why I chose to specialize in hair cutting and hair extensions. Listening to my clients needs and helping them achieve exactly what they’re looking for is always my goal. I like my client to feel and look they’re best every time they get up from my chair.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

Word of mouth is the always the best way to grow a clientele but also if you work in a departmentalized salon find a color or stylist that you work well with and have the same vision for your clients hair.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?

I couldn’t imagine doing anything else but if I had to go back in time and could not do hair I would of been a figure skating coach since I figure skated for many years
