We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jordan Peter. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jordan below.
Jordan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
As a young kid, moving to a whole new country was a life-changing experience. My parents play a very important role in my music career. if it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t have been able to chase this wild dream of becoming the best artist in the world, let alone in this country. for them to sacrifice all that they had, just to move across the world to give their kids an opportunity to become something of themselves.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have always been interested in learning an instrument ever since I grew up seeing my cousins and uncles playing all types of instruments.
I picked up the piano and guitar and through the help of YouTube, I learned how to play those instruments. I quickly realized that I was left-handed and the guitar I had gotten from my parents was a right-handed one. I didn’t have a choice but to try to learn how to play it upside down, and now it’s the only way I can play the guitar. soon I realized that I wanted to make music and put it out there to showcase my work, I figured out how to produce music on software called FL studio, and started making beats for friends and myself throughout high school. as I got older, I wanted to play shows live and tried reaching out to show promoters for the opportunity but no one would take a kid in high school seriously. so, in my last senior year, I decided to throw my first ever music event in a small town called Wylie, TX for me and my friends to perform, around 500 or so people showed up and we all had a great experience.
Now I and a couple of friends are taking our music to the next level by not just treating it like a hobby but as a business to run. I’m grateful for this wonderful brotherhood that I share with like-minded musicians, and we all help out each other and support each other in our music individually and as a collective. I’ve recently had the chance to perform at EMO NITE here in Dallas at the southside music hall.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I’m excited to finally announce skull fest 2023! it’s my first ever headlining show in Garland TX, that I and my friends put it together. it takes place on march 4th at 8 pm. SKULLFEST was meant to represent a part of me that wanted to give people the best live music concert experience where it’s safe and fun, and anyone can be whoever they want to be and just let loose.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
making music with my friends will always be better than doing it alone. doing what you love with the people you love can be very rewarding and inspiring. I recently released a brand new song, RENEGADE, in Jan 2023 with one of my best friends Isaac. he helped me write, record, and also finish the track. another one I did last year was ILYIHY with another friend of mine Claudia, she and I shared emotional journeys in our lives and we wanted to express them in a song.
