We recently connected with Jordan Molina and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jordan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line?
Friends and family are key to a successful business. They already cheer you on in life, so they should extend their support to your business. Word of mouth is one of the best referral methods to grow your business. All your friends and family have to do is speak highly of you and your business to others they come in contact with or simply share your posts on social media. Having friends and family support Jordan E’s Popcorn & Candy Co. is the reason we are still in business today. Our family and friends have rallied around us, prayed for us and constantly help with anything we need. It would not be possible without them.
If your friends and family do not support you, then who will?

Jordan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am the co-owner of Jordan E’s Popcorn & Candy Co. in the Historic Downtown area of Waxahachie, Texas. We are a gourmet popcorn and candy company. We have over 50 flavors of gourmet popcorn, nostalgic candy, glass bottled sodas, gourmet food items and gift arrangements. Fundraisers for non-profits are a large part of our business as well. We love working with schools and organizations helping them raise money for their causes.
Community involvement is our heart. We love serving our community and volunteering everywhere we can. One of our favorite community events we sponsor is the Adopt-a-Class program. We get to hang out with a 3rd grade class once a month for the school year and just invest time and pour into the lives of these amazing students!

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I have known my co-founder my entire life…she is my mom! Some people say they could never work with their mom, much less own a business together. I am so grateful that my mom is best friend, and we love working together and making our dream a reality! No one cheers me on like my mom does, do it is amazing to have her in my corner in every aspect of life. It’s like having a personal cheerleader follow you around everywhere!!
Some days there are decisions we have to compromise on; however, we do it with grace and patience. We each are able to express our opinions and then come to a compromise.
I could not ask for a better co-founder.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe 100% that being involved and volunteering in the community has helped build my reputation immensely. We want people to see us and not only know our brand, but know our hearts for the community. The more people that recognize your brand and face, the quicker they are to refer you to others!
