We were lucky to catch up with Jordan Bunch recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, thanks for joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
The biggest risk that I’ve taken in my adult years is stepping out on faith to share Imminent Aesthetics with the world. As a creative, I naturally get excited about my hobbies but I never thought to realistically take an idea and turn it into a business. The more thought and prayer that was put into this made me believe that this was something that I was supposed to do. Although the idea of Imminent Aesthetics came about two years prior; to go forward and make this a legitimate company is a major step for me. I struggle with perfectionism and it caused me to feel as though I was delaying my progress. This caused me to feel like Imminent Aesthetics would never become what I envisioned it could be. I can recall recently feeling like I didn’t have anything to offer the world. I found myself doubting my gifts and talents and even felt like God made a mistake with me. But every time I think about Imminent Aesthetics I get the joy and excitement that I want to invite others into. I can say that so far it has been a hectic process but I wouldn’t change anything about it. I appreciate the love and support from my family and even strangers who don’t even have a backstory about who I am or what Imminent Aesthetics stands for. From my perspective, it has been a positive experience and outcome. I pray that Imminent Aesthetics exhibits elegance and excellence to each person who comes across the page and experiences what I have to offer.
Jordan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello everybody and welcome to all the newcomers. My name is Jordan and I’m the founder of Imminent Aesthetics. Imminent Aesthetics is an event-planning company that provides services for birthdays, graduation parties, anniversaries, etc. We are not limited to just these types of events but since Imminent Aesthetics is a start-up company those are the events we have covered up until this point. With Imminent Aesthetics being a start-up company, I single-handedly provide all the services.
Depending on what is needed I will order supplies, cater food, assemble and disassemble decorations, and most importantly provide photography and coordination for events. Imminent Aesthetics formed as an idea around 2021, but I didn’t know at the time what passion it was for. I am creative at heart and I desired to find a way to use one of my gifts to spread the love of Christ to others. But I wanted to spread the love of Christ by doing something that I enjoy. With the help of council and God-given creativity, the name Imminent Aesthetics was born. I believe that God shows his love to us through continuous creativity and innovation and I believe that I can use event planning as an avenue to point customers to Jesus. I think there are two major differences between my company compared to my fellow event planners. For one I have a genuine passion to bring someone else’s vision to life. But the most important difference, is I have God on my side. I don’t take credit for any of the ideas that have been given to me for this company. I want to honor God and use the gifts and talents that he has given me to bring others to Christ. As a person from the younger generation, I think this is a different avenue to draw people in who may have never stepped into a church. By bringing joy to others I believe this can soften the hearts and make others receptive to the transformation that only Jesus can do. I want my customers to know that I take pride in my work and show up in excellence. With that being my motivation I think that my customers will appreciate that aspect of me to the point that my brand becomes a trustworthy resource for others
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being creative is the access to unlimited creativity. No one can box or control the imagination that you want to bring to life. At a young age, I struggled in school because I felt as though my teachers and classmates never understood the vision I had. Since I was younger I’ve always seen what something could be on a wider scale and I never wanted to limit myself. I believe that God’s greatest gift to us is creativity and I want to show other young creatives and even older ones that no one can keep you in a box unless you put yourself in one.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Imminent Aesthetics is still building a following, but I am grateful for all the support from family and friends. I can say my advice to others is to brainstorm solid marketing tools to promote your business. It’s important to establish who your target audience is so that you know what captivates that crowd. Once your audience is established then you can tailor your material. I will also say that it’s important to not only promote online but word of mouth travels just as fast. When you meet someone face to face the customer can get a feel for your personality and 99% of the time will share your business with their friends and family.
