We recently connected with Jordan Bigler and have shared our conversation below.
Jordan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
When I think about the legacy I’m hoping to build, I often reflect on my time working as an Associate Producer in New York City, where my primary role was location scouting. I remember how challenging it was to walk around the city, knocking on doors, trying to find homes for our docu-series recreations. This experience taught me resilience and the power of connection. One day, I met a woman who welcomed me in and shared how they often hosted traveling musicians for private living room concerts. Everyone would pitch in a few bucks for the artist and bring a potluck dish. It was a simple thing, but it struck me deeply. That experience inspired me to see life as a series of meaningful, shared experiences.
I’ve always been fascinated by Benjamin Franklin, an everyman involved in countless pursuits—publishing, inventions, diplomacy. His multifaceted contributions inspire me to leave a similarly diverse and meaningful impact, blending my passions for storytelling, adventure, and human connection. One of his quotes that has always resonated with me is: “Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing about.” I try to live by that, embracing adventure, taking risks, and pursuing my passions. I believe in being kind wherever I go, stepping boldly into life’s opportunities without fear, and saying yes to adventures that enrich my soul.
In our home, my wife and I have an oversized magnetic Scrabble board where we display a quote that serves as a guiding principle for us: “We take care of others, God takes care of us.” This mantra helps me navigate life’s uncertainties and reminds me that small acts of kindness can lead to unexpected opportunities. It reinforces my belief that helping others is an adventure in itself, leading to fulfilling and unexpected journeys.
I hope people will say good things about me. I hope to have made a positive impact, even if only for a moment, in many people’s lives. I love people, I love life, and I want to live one that is meaningful, supportive, and uplifting to others. The connections I make with friends and strangers alike, and the stories I collect along the way, are what bring me joy. Ultimately, I want my legacy to be one of kindness, adventure, and a commitment to living boldly while taking care of others.

Jordan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Jordan Bigler, and I’m a comedian, speaker, and creative entrepreneur. My journey has been anything but ordinary—I’ve explored film production, marketing, and event hosting, but at the core of it all is my love for storytelling and connecting with people through humor. From performing stand-up in Los Angeles to producing live events and fundraisers, I’ve found joy in creating meaningful experiences that bring people together.
Comedy has always been a natural part of my life. I love finding humor in everyday moments and sharing that with others. Whether I’m performing at a corporate event, a church function, or just among friends, my goal is to bring laughter and connection. I’ve always believed that comedy should be relatable and inclusive, something everyone can enjoy.
Beyond comedy, I enjoy creative projects that allow me to bring ideas to life. I’ve helped businesses with branding, designed logos, and even created billboard advertisements. I love collaborating with others to find creative solutions and tell compelling stories through visuals and experiences. It’s fulfilling to see a vision come to life and know I played a part in it.
My next chapter is taking me into the winery industry, which feels like a natural fit for my love of storytelling and hospitality. I’m excited to explore new ways to create memorable events and share experiences that people will cherish.
What matters most to me is the connections I make along the way. Whether it’s making someone laugh, helping a business with their branding, or working on a creative project, I love being part of something meaningful. My work is rooted in authenticity and adventure, and I hope to continue finding joy in every opportunity that comes my way.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
When it comes to being a creative, I think non-creatives might struggle to understand how my brain works. My wife, for example, is a PhD scientist – she’s incredibly analytical and precise, and I love that about her. Part of me enjoys rising to the challenge of comprehending her work and seeing how she processes information. It’s fascinating to step into her world of logic and structure. But at my core, I am a hyper-creative. My brain moves fast, putting pieces together that others might not see.
That’s the beauty of comedy, constantly blending two different ideas and finding where they intersect to create something funny. For example, I might say, “The diets in LA are just nuts, breakfast is almond milk, lunch is trail mix, and dinner is legumes. It’s just nuts!” That joke works because it merges two perspectives: the craziness of LA diets and the literal idea of a nut-based diet. My brain loves playing in that space, turning ideas over and looking at them from different angles.
For the very forward-thinking, non-creative types, my world might seem chaotic, but to me, it’s a playground. I thrive in exploring new ideas, plugging things in, and seeing what works. It’s where I find joy, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’ve learned to trust this process, knowing that it’s in these moments of creative exploration where something greater than myself comes alive – where inspiration flows and ideas take shape in ways I could never have planned.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I’ve always dreamed of starring in a hit sitcom, something along the lines of The Big Bang Theory or Two and a Half Men. Growing up, I loved watching The Drew Carey Show, and in sixth grade, my teachers even said I looked like Drew Carey. I’ve always been drawn to clean, family-friendly comedy, and I wish shows like that would make a comeback. I think I would be a great fit for one of those projects.
Some days, I feel a strong desire to pursue that goal, but other days, I find joy in simply being present and open to whatever opportunities come my way. Deep down, I believe my soul knows what it’s up to, and I’m learning to trust that process, being present and responding to the moments that arise. Saying yes to opportunities has led me to incredible experiences, like working on movies in the Amazon jungle and in Jordan, and traveling to six African countries with my wife.
The more I let go of rigid expectations, the more my deeper desires naturally come to life in ways I never could have planned. I’m discovering that the journey itself often leads to fulfilling those aspirations in unexpected and meaningful ways.
