We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jordan Bell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jordan below.
Hi Jordan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Currently I am working on a podcast series titled Reboot. Reboot is a podcast where my college roommate David Grunfeld and I take some of our favorite movies and TV shows and “Reboot” them. Now, Rebooting the show could mean we come up with a sequel, prequel, or even a spin off tv series. On the podcast, we both present our idea to a friend of ours, that serves as a guest judge and that person picks a winner. I love this project for a few reasons. The first being, I believe in the originality of it. Throughout our friendship which has now spanned over 16 years. David and I bonded watching movies and tv shows together and we wanted to create something that replicated that experience. Second, both of us enjoy creative writing and competition and this gives us an opportunity to be creative together while also being competitive. There’s no prize for winning an episode but it does feel good to have bragging rights in a friendly competition.
Jordan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For those who don’t know who I am, my name is Jordan Bell and I am originally from Northeast, OH. I began working on Good People Content towards the end of 2024. For me, I wanted to create a platform not only for myself, but for others to exhibit their creativity. The idea behind Good People Content is that as it gains a following, I can use that following to help give a platform to other creatives.
I’m in a place in my life where I only want to spend my time working with people that challenge me intellectually and creatively and I believe starting Good People Content has given me that opportunity. Currently we have three projects that we’re working on consistently. Reboot, Song of The Week and Cleveland Sports Talk With JB. All three of these projects in my eyes are just examples of the range this platform will have moving forward.
When people visit Good People Content it is my hope that they will be inspired by our creativity and will want to collaborate with us on projects in the future.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, I think the most rewarding part of being a creative is collaboration. I grew up playing team sports. In sports you get the opportunity to work together with your peers to achieve a common goal. For me, being a creative gives me that same opportunity. I enjoy learning from the people that I create with, finding commonalities in our ideas and also finding the differences in the ways that we think and how we can work together to turn those ideas into something that others enjoy and find inspiring.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I think the best way to support creatives is to continue to be open to new ideas and concepts. We live in a world now where there is so much content out there for people to choose from, but a lot of it is copycat material. People come up with a good idea and then everyone copies that idea until audiences are no longer interested. I would encourage society to challenge creatives to be more original and consume the content that dares to be different as opposed to copy and pasting.
