We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jordan Basham. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jordan below.
Jordan, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
I actually started managing my own social media just for fun—as a creative outlet. It was never something I expected to turn into a business. I was sharing moments from my life, things I loved, and just connecting with people online. Over time, my content started to gain traction, and what started as a hobby slowly evolved into a side hustle.
Brands began reaching out, and my audience kept growing. People started asking me for tips, wanting help with their own content or branding—and that’s when the lightbulb went off. There was real demand for what I was doing, and that inspired me to turn it into a full-blown business.
At first, I managed everything myself because I wanted to learn the ins and outs and maintain a personal voice. But as things grew, I realized the value in outsourcing some pieces—whether that’s content planning, editing, or engagement—so I could focus on strategy and creativity.
My biggest lesson? You don’t need to have it all figured out to start. Just show up, be consistent, and be yourself. Social media is powerful, but authenticity is what truly connects. If you’re a business owner wondering whether to DIY or hire out—start by doing it yourself to learn your voice and audience. Once you’re clear on that, bringing in support can take things to the next level.

Jordan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started sharing on social media just for fun—a creative outlet that felt true to me. What began as a hobby turned into a side hustle, and before I knew it, people were asking for my help and encouraging me to turn it into a business. So I did.
Now, I help brands and creators show up online with confidence, clarity, and purpose. I’ve been on both sides—starting from scratch and now building strategy—and that gives me a unique perspective.
What sets me apart is heart. I lead with authenticity, I believe in connection over perfection, and I’m proud to have built something that inspires others to do the same.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience on social media by simply showing up as myself. I didn’t have a big strategy in the beginning—I just shared what I loved, stayed consistent, and connected with people in an authentic way. Over time, that honesty and passion resonated. My community grew because it was built on real connection, not just content.
My advice? Don’t wait until everything’s “perfect” to start. Be consistent, be genuine, and speak to your audience like they’re your friends. Engage with your community, show the behind-the-scenes, and don’t be afraid to experiment. Your people will find you—just make sure you’re showing up so they can.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Be the boss you always wished you had. That means leading with empathy, setting clear expectations, and creating a space where people feel seen, heard, and valued. Celebrate wins—big or small. Check in on your team not just about work, but about life. Create a culture where feedback flows both ways, and where growth is supported, not pressured.
High morale doesn’t come from perks—it comes from people feeling like they matter. When you lead with kindness, communicate clearly, and lead by example, you don’t just manage a team—you build a community that wants to show up and do great work with you.
