We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jonny Violet a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jonny, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
I wanna first say that I’m incredibly grateful to be here. I have a song I’m working on after taking a lot hiatus. It’s a rap song and it’s very powerful and strong. I wanna put it out soon. It’s a major risk that I plan on taking because I’m known for singing. I’m not known as a rapper. But I hope when the song comes out it will make history and make an impact.
Jonny, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started with theater. I made music and content, and recived accolades from Google, TikTok. Snapchat, Apple Music editorial. I also received over 3 million views. That’s a really basic breakdown!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Sure, here’s an interesting story! So a little while ago, I started having very bad health issues which forced me to stop my creative career. Now, I’ve been focusing on my health! I’m seeing many doctors and slowly finding solutions to my medical issues. Now, I’m gonna slowly get back into music and I look forward to releasing my debut solo single!
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
You know, I really wanna make an impact. I wanna make people feel something. Hopefully good; but other emotions are fine too. I want people to look and say “wow look at that kid, look at him go”.
