Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jonniqua Jackson-Hargrove. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Jonniqua thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
After seeing the effects that COVID 19 had on the nation, watching countless Americans, including myself, suffer with health issues, and/or loosing loved ones due to illnesses and diseases, the rise in HOME funding, climate change, and inflation I thought to myself how can I start a business that will bring awareness to these things but more importantly, help people!
I said to myself, well I’ll just start by becoming a notary, the demand is high and due to the Pandemic, there’s a need for notaries.
When I first went into business, I started out as a traditional notary. I thought to myself, I just need to start! I will later transition my business to an LLC. This experience has taught me the importance of having the proper business plan in place so that you structure your business the way you desire in effort to service you clients appropriately. After later transitioning my business, I added services like real estate consulting, business consulting, notary signing agent, remote online notary, apostille, estate planning, property data collecting, passive observations, and property and casualty insurance.
I came across the term Anaia when reading one day, and after looking up the term and its meaning “God has answered,” I thought it was a great name for my business and described the notary business that helps very well. At Anaia Signings LLC, I bring awareness to critical topics like the effects of COVID 19, healthy living, the environment, and climate change. While taking time out to educate clients on the importance of health and wellness, home-buying, real estate, generational wealth, financial literacy, and environmental awareness.
I knew this would be worthwhile because there’s not one notary business that is structured like Anaia Signings LLC!
Jonniqua, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was first commissioned a traditional notary in 2013 working as a teller at a state bank. However, I was not considered an independent notary until going into business for myself in 2021.
Having prior experience as a notary taught me discipline, the importance of confidentiality, and secure transactions.
What sets me apart from the other notaries is the way my business is structured and the services offered. Unlike other notaries I shed light on the importance of plants as it pertains to one’s health, healthy living, and the environment. I offer services like passive observatories in nature that can be used for scientific and environmental studies and property data collecting for real estate assessments and appraisal needs.
I enjoy helping my clients and solving their problems! A lot of my clients have notary needs for medical purposes, power of attorney needs, trust, estates and wills. In addition, my clients are very grateful for my property data collection services that provide them with the most accurate and detailed real estate assessment of their home or property.
I am most proud of the legacy and trust I am building with my clients. It is important that they know how much I value them for trusting in me to assist them with my services.
How’d you meet your business partner?
Anaia Signings LLC partners with a fiduciary firm, EXG Nexus Solutions LLC to provide property and casualty services to my clients. What my clients don’t know is that I actually am a client of EXG Nexus Solutions, LLC. I met David Johnson, the owner, in 2016, after being referred to him by my longtime friend who was my boss at the time. I expressed to her that I was having difficulties budgeting and tracking my finances after purchasing a new car and she thought it would be a good idea to work with EXG Nexus Solutions in effort to get more financially organized. I have been a client with EXG Nexus Solutions LLC ever since and David has helped me achieve financial goals like credit repair, budgeting, purchasing a home, establishing generational wealth, starting my own business, and the importance of investing in myself.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience on social media by just being myself and being transparent. With the help of my notary coach Sierra Walker, owner of The Notary Blueprint, I was able to come up with a strategy that allows my audience to be able to understand and relate to the content I create. I was very shy at first, however, Sierra helped me overcome my shyness by creating content that relates to my audience and showcase my work.
Advice that I would give others who are just starting to build a presence on social media would be to stay consistent, relatable and don’t be afraid to tell your story and your why.
