Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jonique Pharr . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jonique , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
J.Inspirations Mission: is about Building Up Self-esteem, Breaking Down Barriers (within one’s self), Balancing our mental state, and Beginning to truly know who you are and becoming the best version of yourself. No matter the situation or circumstance it’s imperative to know you are NOT alone, there’s always someone you can relate to.
After working with Detroit youth for years, I’d come to learn that they didn’t get a chance to experience being a child. Yeah, they were a child due to their age but the experiences they endured, the things they were exposed to, and the responsibilities giving to them, set them up to “grow up fast.”
Initially, J.Inspirations outreach program sought out to help the youth with Self-Esteem, Mindfulness, Accountability, providing beneficial Resources, and overall being a Supportive Outlet. We’ve now extended those same services to Women in the form of Workshops.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Jonique’, I’m and Proud Wife and Mother. I started J.Inspirations after my own personal experiences and living life. I noticed that there was a need for Positive Guidance with our Youth here in Detroit and a Support System for Women. I started by doing a clothing drive for a place that housed youth and young women and went on to start hosting Workshops. I’ve hosted small group workshops and even virtual workshops with a group of twenty. I’ve also provided Resources to those in need in different capacities.
Whenever I’m providing any sort of services, I always make Myself Relatable. It’s important for individuals to know that they’re not alone in a lot of their experiences. My goal is to have a Positive Impacts on those I encounter. That in which I’m most proud of is being consistent with trying to make a positive change.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I decided to start a business account separate from my personal account, thus having zero followers. It took consistency with posting, which I lacked initially and knowing what it is that I wanted to give to my followers. Once I decided on the message in which I wanted to relay to my followers, I knew the direction of my account. My goal is to Inspire.
I show up as my authentic self in my post. Rather it’s a Message or a Reel, I’m being Me. I also try to engage with my followers by posing a question in my captions at times.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of clients for me have been people sharing their experience with me. With me hosting workshops, majority of my clients have been referral based. “Word of mouth” is a real thing to say the least. I enjoy networking and meeting new people as well. I’ve also found myself collaborating with other individuals as well as established non profits.
It’s important to put yourself “out there” sort to speak in order to gain traction. Go to local networking events, attend pop up shops, and engage with those who inquire about your services. Whenever you’re providing a public service, you have to be a people’s person.
