Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jonathan Rosengarten. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jonathan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents did (and still do) so much right. My parents instilled in me the importance of embracing discomfort. Life rarely unfolds on our preferred terms, and success often requires showing up and executing consistently—regardless of how we feel in the moment. It’s easy to justify taking a day off when motivation is low, but my parents taught me that achieving long-term goals means pushing through those moments of resistance.
They emphasized the value of discipline, persistence, and simply outworking the competition, even when it wasn’t convenient or comfortable. While the process can be difficult, I credit much of my success to this mindset: learning to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Jonathan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
American DJ/producer phenom Jonathan Rosengarten, better known under the stage name Foínix, has gone from bedroom producer to one of the top 70 most streamed electronic artists within the space of a year. The 25 year old South Florida native was classically trained in violin and piano before finally experimenting with electronic production upon his arrival in college.
Consistently collaborating with some of the most recognizable names in the music industry including Grey, Edward Maya, KSHMR, Tungevaag, Syn Cole, Hot Chelle Rae, Sammy Adams and several others, Foínix has amassed hundreds of millions of streams while refining his musical style into what it is today. Having received support from EDM heavyweights such as Timmy Trumpet, Alok, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, R3HAB, Tiësto, Don Diablo, and more, Foínix has earned several high profile releases on labels like Sony, Spinnin’, Warner, Dharma, and Heartfeldt Records. Routinely topping dance charts around the planet, Foínix has garnered numerous #1 singles across several countries. Signing a multi-year deal with multi-platinum, global superstar DJ Sam Feldt (via Heartfeldt) in November 2024, the young DJ marked an exciting new chapter in his career.
Having already performed alongside international DJs like Sam Feldt, Cheat Codes , Fedde Le Grand, and Regard in cities like Amsterdam, Miami, London, Las Vegas, New York, and others, Foínix has solidified himself as one of the fastest rising DJ’s in electronic music today.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
“The Golden Circle” by Simon Sinek has had a significant impact on how I approach building my brand. The framework explains why some businesses achieve lasting success while others, even with comparable products, struggle. Sinek argues that the most successful companies define their brands from the inside out—beginning with why they exist, followed by how they deliver value, and finally what they offer.
By clearly defining the deeper purpose behind a product or service, brands create authentic connections with consumers that go beyond surface-level marketing. In his book, Sinek highlights Apple as a prime example:
WHY: “Everything we do, we believe in challenging the status quo. We believe in thinking differently.”
HOW: “The way we challenge the status quo is by making our products beautifully designed, simple to use, and user-friendly.”
WHAT: “We just happen to make great computers.”
Applying this model has transformed the way I think about my own brand. By starting with why, I’ve been able to better define my audience and discover the most authentic ways to connect with them.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Not many people know this, but before Foínix, I produced music under the name Eastern Shores. I had built a fan base and a catalog I was proud of—but due to a bad management situation, all of my music was removed from streaming platforms. Years of work were erased overnight.
It was devastating, but it also became one of the most important lessons of my career. I had to start from zero again, and while the road wasn’t easy, I refused to quit. Looking back, I’m proud of how I persevered through that period—it taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of staying true to my vision.
