Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jonathan Morris. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Jonathan, thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
High school was where I began to pursue it, but I really knew so much sooner that I wanted to professionally be a creative. High school is where I took the time to consider what it was I would create out of myself, where I would determine the things I wanted to like and the things I didn’t, and then finally decide how to shift toward a more fulfilled future.
Jonathan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I like to do a bit of everything, so in my path as a creative I make art of many kinds, but mostly charcoal portraits, acrylic and oil paintings, digital painting, vector art, and poetry. In doing so, I have come to use those talents to open and design for my clothing company, A Sweet Tooth Clothing Company, where I design clothing of various styles. I am most proud of the freedom and fun that seems to shine through my brand and the community of people who support it as it continues to grow. We’re building something truly special.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I think that the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is coming to the realization that you make great stuff, and will continue to make great stuff, and so you can always count on your ability to make great stuff. It’s a freedom that many artists work their whole lives to experience, and so I cherish it.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I have dedicated this journey to doing what’s fun. And as simple as that may sound, that is the only real mission I could ever truly accept as a creative. A life dedicated to doing cool stuff and having fun is all I could ever want.
