We recently connected with Jonathan Glass and have shared our conversation below.
Jonathan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
I struggled with health as a child, due to environmental allergies and unknown allergies to dairy., for many years. I was on antibiotics pretty much twice a year until age 18. At that time, I discovered yoga and meaningful dietary changes. Pretty much my whole life changed and I felt a strong desire to help others who were suffering.
Quite early on, I found out there is so much we can do to improve our wellbeing in body and mind.
I implemented changes that dramatically improved my sense of wellbeing, significantly reduced allergy symptoms and lung conditions, and then went on to passionately study.

Jonathan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a Naturopathic Doctor, Licensed Master Acupuncturist, Ayurvedic Practitioner, Energy Healer, and Natural Health Educator and also the author of The Total Life Cleanse and co-created the Total Life Cleanse program. I served on the faculty of The Dharma Institute of Yoga and Ayurveda and the New England School of Acupuncture.
I graduated of The University of Natural Medicine (Doctor of Naturopathy), the Worsley Institute for Classical Acupuncture in Florida and the College of Traditional Acupuncture in England and received myMasters in acupuncture at the Academy of Five Element Acupuncture in Florida. I began his studies at Heartwood Institute in California in 1987 (massage, herbal therapies, energy healing and hypnotherapy). I also utilize various forms of Muscle Response Testing such as: Nutrition Response Testing and Health Scan Technique. I’ve trained extensively in Ayurveda, yoga, and meditation while living in India, and through the American Institute of Vedic Studies and the Dharma Institute of Yoga and Ayurveda.
I am passionate about helping others improve the quality of their lives, including body, mind and soul. I work intimately with my patients, getting to know who they are at their best, and discovering the stressors and obstacles to well being. I am also an author of Total Life Cleanse, a comprehensive manual for detoxing and rejuvenating body mind and soul!
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Honestly, being the best I can be, meaning practicing what I teach, always being willing to learn more, and listening to my patients. I have been blessed with a referral based practice because I take the time to really listen and get to know what my patients really need and want, learn what interferes with their health goals, and support them to use the best treatments and take the best dietary and lifestyle actions to move in the right direction.
In other words, being sincere and really good at what I do matters to me and of course it matters to others.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
For me, walking my talk to the best of my ability is super meaningful. I am also fortunate, because it keeps me healthy and energetic. I also find that inner practices, like meditation, yoga etc are profoundly helpful for maintaining energy, mental clarity, compassion and healthy detachment, all of which are necessary for really being helpful to others. Also, keeping the body strong and fluid with yoga and reasonable exercise is essential as well.
