We recently connected with Jonathan Bell and have shared our conversation below.
Jonathan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you in your creative career?
Disciple. As prior service in the United States Army, discipline had been one of the first of things instilled in us from initial entry. If one individual discipline, We were all affected as a mass, receiving disciplinary action. Which made you more disciplined and take accountability for not only your actions but those around you and how it may affect others. This may now be applied with anything you do. Examples such: Getting up workout every morning takes discipline, proper sleep schedule, healthy eating habits, punctuality and showing up in general, … motivation is temporary, once that runs out, discipline needs to be present in the lack of motivation.
Jonathan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Jonathan Bell also known as jb.stunna on most platforms, and I couldn’t be more excited to share a bit about myself and what I do. I wear many hats as a model, actor, fitness enthusiast, and content creator. My mission is to inspire and motivate people to do better, whether it’s in terms of style, fitness, or excelling in their creative endeavors.
What sets me apart is my drive and determination. Despite being a relatively new player in the game/industry, I’ve achieved a ton of accomplishments. Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
As a creative person, there are certain aspects of our mindset and process that non-creatives might struggle to fully grasp. For example, they might find it hard to understand the level of passion and dedication we have towards our craft. They might not comprehend the constant need for inspiration and the drive to constantly push boundaries and explore new ideas.
Non-creatives might also struggle to understand the unpredictability and uncertainty that often comes with being a creative. We thrive in an environment that embraces change and takes risks, which can be challenging for those who prefer stability and routine.
Additionally, non-creatives might not fully comprehend the amount of time and effort we put into our work. They might not realize the countless hours spent brainstorming, experimenting, and refining our ideas to bring them to life.
Overall, the creative process is a unique and personal journey, and it’s not always easy for non-creatives to understand the intricacies and nuances that go into it. But that’s what makes us creatives so special and valuable in the world. We bring a unique perspective and a fresh dose of imagination that can truly make a difference.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Some significant moments that have marked my life’s journey would be, Departing from my hometown and escaping a negative environment filled with poverty, drama, and trauma I just had to make into a pivotal decision. It propelled me towards pursuing personal growth and success. Furthering my journey, I made the choice to join the military, which proved to be transformative. The experience instilled in me a strong set of values and morals, shaping me into an individual of discipline and responsibility. It was during this time that I embraced the responsibilities of adulthood.
So picture this: I was already on this amazing journey of personal growth and self-discovery as I left home and joined the military. But deep down, there was a burning passion for creativity that couldn’t be contained.
In a bold move, I decided to embrace my artistic side and take my creative journey to the next level. I carved out time, dedicated myself to learning and honing my skills, and started embracing opportunities that allowed me to express my creativity.
And you know what? It turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. The moment I started taking my creative space seriously, I felt a wonderful sense of fulfillment and joy.
Now, I’m fully immersed in my creative pursuits, exploring new avenues, and making a name for myself in the industry. It’s exhilarating to see how my dedication and passion have opened doors and allowed me to make a living doing what I truly love.
Reflecting on these moments, I am immensely proud of the path I have forged. Each decision has contributed to my personal growth and resilience and help mold me into the person I am today. I encourage you to celebrate your own journey, and continue striving for greatness.
