We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jonah Dillon. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jonah below.
Hi Jonah, thanks for joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope my legacy is that people Will know you can create art no matter what challenges you have in life.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Jonah Dillon I’m an artist who pushes boundaries and has managed to make a significant mark within the art community. Despite being born with muscular dystrophy, I’ve consistently discovered avenues to express myself through my artistic endeavors. Although I had been drawing throughout most of my life, the advancement of my condition eventually deprived me of the ability to employ my hands. However, as time passed, I stumbled upon a fresh approach to creating art by applying paint to the wheels of my wheelchair. This innovative method has led to my frequent invitations to live events and exhibitions, driven by the growing appeal of my work and the unique methodology I employ.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
For most of my life I enjoyed drawing as a way of expressing my artistic talent. However after high school due to the progression of my muscular dystrophy. I lost the ability to draw with my hands. For a few years after this I didn’t create any artwork. A couple years later I came up with a new way to create. It all started with the idea of running over things and recording videos. Then I thought wait what if I do this with paint. The first time I tried painting with my wheelchair I spent $10 on tempera paint and cheap paper. After doing this I realized hey this is actually going to work. I have been creating art this way ever since then.
