We were lucky to catch up with Jonaa Darrie recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jonaa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
TOSCA HONEY was created with the exploration of niche fragrances and bringing them to life. I wanted to share with the world, beautifully crafted candles, with exceptional scents that compare to no other. Scents that are inspired from stories, ballets, and operas, that will transport you there. An approachable luxury, while keeping my brand ethically sourced and animal cruelty free. This was my dream that came to be.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For over 20 years I have worked in the luxury brand industry and represented Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, and Giorgio Armani, which gave me great exposure into the world of fashion, beauty and fragrance. These experiences combined with my love of world travel, art, music and the history of storytelling through fragrance inspired me to create my own brand. TOSCA HONEY offers an exquisite collection of niche scents, while staying socially conscious and animal cruelty free. Our candles are composed with fine fragrances from Grasse, France. Our vegan wax blend is made in the US as well as our glass vessels and lead free wicks. The ritual of lighting a candle is one that delights the senses. It is a moment of peace paired with intriguing calming fragrances for all to cherish.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Walking into boutiques, making a connection and letting potential clients burn and enjoy TOSCA HONEY has been a great way to source new accounts. Reaching out to shops and businesses online as well as influencers has put my brand in front of larger audiences.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Starting a business during the pandemic was met with many obstacles. Supplies were on backorder from many manufacturers, glass vessels were obsolete as well as wax being sold out everywhere. There was a demand that could not be fulfilled and I had to learn patience during these weeks of waiting. This was all part of the learning curve for me as a business owner, and to keep pushing through.
