Jon, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The current project im working on, Jon Kott Band, would be the most meaningful. Ive pursued music my entire life. Formed and developed many bands over the years, but Jon Kott Band is the culmination of all my efforts.
The most honest and real songs Ive written. There has always been something or someone driving the force behind my previous bands/projects. For the first time, the only thing driving this is us.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Ive moved from San Antonio Texas to Detroit Michigan to Pensacola Florida to Houston Texas. When making a living as a live musician, reputation and the relationships you form take years to build. So moving as much as I have places me back at square 1 every time.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I think the way that the world came out of Covid really amplified the live music world. Bands are setting attendance records left and right. I think everything looks fantastic
