We were lucky to catch up with Jon Keen recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jon, thanks for joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.

Learning to master the craft of tarot as well as astrology goes beyond my career or a hobby it’s my life’s passion. I believe the stars and the zodiac provides us with insight into the inner workings of our world and the entire reality, allowing us to glimpse our past, present or even possible futures based on the energies present in our lives currently or from the time of our birth. Astrology is the oldest of all the “sciences” in mankind’s history and has been studied by the greatest minds throughout time. I feel that the biggest hurdle for me along the way was just trusting that I have done the work and in my intuition and knowledge. I think common obstacles for many readers, content creators is just not allowing what others believe or think to effect their drive and the pursuit of their goals and what they are trying to achieve. It ultimately comes down to a strong belief in oneself and a inner knowing that this is what you have been called to do in life.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am an astrologer/intuitive tarot reader and content creator. I provide personal tarot readings as well as astrology readings. I also provide a combination of both services and I have dubbed it a “soul profile” where I read your current astrology as well as do a full tarot reading including the ley lines on which you’re born, gematria and etymology of your name and personal numerology and life path. As a content creator I provide monthly memberships with exclusive content, private shows, merch and astrology reports including extended general tarot readings. I offer my services as a life coach and spiritual teacher and have a deep knowledge into the occult and esoteric mysticism. I have been dedicated to this path my entire life and have personally pursued higher learning, illumination and self-empowerment and improvement and believe that my skills are valuable for the beginner just looking for answers to the one who seeks to pursue a deeper path of understanding of self and the nature of the reality we live in. I started The Best Damn Podcast back in 2015 as an outlet of self-expression and a means of learning as well as career path and have reached tens of thousands or more and can be found on all platforms for those who are interested in learning about the deeper mysteries and truths you won’t hear from mainstream media outlets.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creator is the freedom to truly express myself and explore the depths of who I am, and who I want to be. To be able to connect with like-minded people from all over the world and create communities for those connections to blossom is extremely gratifying to me as a person. I believe we are all unique and individual expressions of the infinite and have unlimited potential and only when we learn to embrace and celebrate our differences do we truly grow and come together as a whole. The joy of helping others through my readings and providing a different perspective on their problems or worries is truly humbling and just giving people a unique way of looking at the world is something I wish more people would not only do but be open to experience themselves.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Early on when I began creating content I decided to start covering more controversial topics because at that time in my life it was important to me to express how I felt about different injustices in the world and reveal deeper truths that most in my field ran from or simply avoided to protect their image or bottom line. I had people and even a sponsor that didn’t agree with moving in that direction that resulted in parting ways and completely re-branding and just evolving as a person, a creator, reader and business owner. This turned out to be the turning point for me when those exact videos went viral bringing in the biggest growth spurt I’ve ever had. This allowed me to finally quit my 9-5 and go to creating full time and provided me with the courage to get the business loan to take my equipment and all my business to the next level and truly commit in a way I wasn’t able to prior to all of that happening. There is nothing greater than betting on yourself and what you know to be true and giving birth to something you dreamed of, and brought to fruition and seeing others benefit and enjoy as well as having it also be your job and what you provide to the world, giving back to you sustaining you and those you love.
