Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jon Infanti. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jon, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
Investing in furthering your education is absolutely necessary when it comes to graphic and web design. It seems like there are new programs, technology and platforms being introduced weekly and if you don’t stay on top of things and develop with the times, you’ll get left behind. I’m constantly taking classes and doing online tutorials to make sure my skills are sharp for whatever client comes my way. I want to be sure I can create exactly what they need, the way they want it. And honestly, all this new tech is just pretty damn cool to explore!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve had a passion for art since I was a little guy. I mean, what’s more fun when you’re five than making a diorama in a shoebox? I wanted to make art a career, so when the graphic design train started to take over, I hopped on board and never looked back. I started my career in New York City and took down the concrete jungle for 5 years before coming out to California for the last 6 years. Since then, I’ve been living a bi-coastal life and gaining inspiration from the people and places I experience along the way. From coast to coast, I’ve been designing, branding and concepting with individuals and companies to help them achieve their goals. I see everything around me as creative inspiration and translate that into my work. My design philosophy is that all projects are created equal and meeting new people along the way is just as important as the finished project. I have met so many amazing people from all over the world. Clients turn to friends and that is something that I did not see coming when I started out in this field. What an awesome and rewarding surprise.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The ability to be happy and genuinely excited to start work every day is something that you really can’t put a value on. I tell people all the time that I get paid to draw and can’t believe how I got so lucky. A newly rewarding aspect of being a creative is seeing my 2-year-old daughter show such an interest in what I’m designing and then creating with her as well. She’ll have the ability to take her creativity in any direction she wants and I’m psyched to see which way she goes. I’ll be there to support and encourage her throughout.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
A lot of my clients are start-ups or small companies. My goal is to help them get top-of-the-line branding, graphic and web design at a price point that won’t hurt them as they’re getting started. I enjoy learning the details about their business and really diving into what they are trying to achieve short and long-term. Helping them build a strong foundation for their company or product can set them off in the perfect direction to help build their dreams.
