We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jon Dean. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jon below.
Jon, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
The idea for my contrast therapy studio emerged from the recognition of a growing need for holistic approaches to health and wellness. I noticed how modern lifestyles often neglected the balance of physical, mental, and emotional health. The transformative effects of practices like sauna therapy, cold plunges, and red light therapy, envisioning a space where people could access these tools in one place to rejuvenate, recover, and improve their overall well-being felt necessary.
I also saw a gap in the market—an opportunity to create a community-focused wellness space that goes beyond traditional fitness or medical solutions, offering therapies rooted in both ancient practices and modern science. The inspiration to curate a studio that empowers people to take proactive care of their health through natural, non-invasive methods was a huge motivator for me.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Not too long ago, I had a business that was declining, my heart was no longer in it and i felt like i was underachieving. I wanted to be of more use to people, to a community, with a focus on health and wellness from a natural approach. With the support from a very small circle of people, including my family and some close friends, I walked away from that business and moved away from a place that I called home my entire life and came to a place where I knew no one, with no contacts and no network. The sunshine and quality of life is what drew me in, and i figured i could sort out the rest. With virtually no income for a year, a vision in my head, and a race against the clock, I put my head down and got to work. I had a few dark days and a lot of self doubt. What kept me going was the thought of a few inspiring people in my life, who always believed in me and taught me to follow my heart, not to mention, the idea that nothing great was ever created from a place of comfort. I am still early in the process with my new business, but the difference between this time last year and now is absolutely monumental. Find the peace inside and follow your instincts. They’re rarely wrong.
