We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jim Galinato . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jom below.
Hi Jim, thanks for joining us today. Do you manage your own social media?
Social media, I do it all myself on all platforms. Doing it myself is working. I create content on a regular basis and some posts will get thousands of views and some maybe 500. I will never pay someone to do it for me and especially I’ll never pay for followers / subscribers. I rather have 100 real followers than 1,000 fake followers. When i was in a band playing shows, it was funny because on our Instagram page we didn’t even have 1,ooo followers and we would play with bands that had like 50-60K followers. Our draw would be around 75-100 people and these bands maybe drew 25, that shows you they paid for their followers.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
How I got started with Vayper Guitars, it started when my wife bought me a guitar kit for Christmas and when I finished the guitar it played great and sounded awesome, I play it all the time. I have a friend that builds awesome guitars so i asked him if he could help me build a guitar from scratch and he did. that guitar came out great. i have an Entrepeneur mind, so I though well let’s give it a try. But the issue with building from scratch is that it can take on an average 6-8 months to build one guitar. So, I decided to look into manufacturing, I found a great company that understood that I’m a one-man company and allowed me to start with low minimum orders, that was in early 2019 and have been with them since.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
The funding to start Vayper Guitars, I was cleaning my garage and notice that I had guitars and effect pedals in my garage that’s been there for years not being used, so I decided to sell them and found other items throughout the house that I sold on ebay and that’s where the funding came from.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Well, I had a little following from being in bands playing the club scene in LA/OC areas of Southern California. I started an Instagram account asked all my friends and family to follow and spread the word. I make content on the regular and even share my personal life with my audience and it seems to be working well.
