We recently connected with Johnny Obando and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Johnny thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

Of course nothing in life comes easy.. I grew up in the circus business moving from town to town almost every single day. Ten months out of the year traveling every corner of the country. Certainly it was a lot of traveling and no time at home.
Back in 2017 my wife kateryna bezrodnia from Ukraine decided that it was time to spend less time on the road and try to spend more time at home.so our daughter can start going to Public school ( she was 3 at the time.
I was nervous at first cause all I knew was circus and how things moved in the circus world.
But I’m all about taking risks!
So we tried it. I formed a great team called the globe of death squad from greenville texas.
It was very difficult at first to pick up gigs with my globe of death. If I was lucky enough I’d pick up one once a month.
My wife ended up getting two jobs at that time which helped very much with bills.
Things were a little rough but we had each other and with friends and family the motivated us.
Then 2020 came! We all know how that went. It was a tough time for the world.
During March 2020 I life long friend jhonatan Dominguez. With the (x metal riders ) Had a brilliant idea to accommodate to the times we are in and have the first in the world drive in circus. With our equipment and vehicles and teams. We were able to make this happen!
And now we are on our 3rd season with the Moto xtreme circus. One of America’s most exciting action sport shows!
We work 1-2 days a week and the rest of the time we are home. With our families.
This is a true definition of adapt and overcome.

Johnny , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I’m Johnny obando from greenville texas I was born 8/4/1990.
I have 1 brother and 2 sisters.
My father is from Colombia South America
My mother is from Romania.

My father use train lions and tigers trainer amd globe of death rider.
And my mother use to do teeterboard with ringling brothers.
So I followed my family’s footsteps we are 7th generation in entertainment.

Have you ever had to pivot?

The biggest change in my life was when we found out we were having a baby. Nothing else mattered only the well being of that child growing.
I completely changed my life and ways of thinking.

We’d love to hear about you met your business partner.

I met my current business partner in fort worth texas. At a shrine circus. He was doing the globe of death. We were both just teenagers back in 2006.
