We were lucky to catch up with Johnny Metro recently and have shared our conversation below.
Johnny , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Beginning from the time I was very young I knew almost immediately that I wanted to perform or create for others and its been a drive that has never left me since. I truly don’t feel whole unless I’m sharing or creating something that an audience can enjoy or relate to. My massive love for movies, music, and television was always a huge motivating factor for me because storytelling is how people truly come together. Every time I make a video I get such a kick out of the idea that my creation might make someone laugh or even add some some joy in their day.

Johnny , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Los Angeles is just such a creative place to be and it truly sparked motivation in me to be the creator I’ve become today. I really love LA and all that it has to offer, so I wanted to bring that feeling to others. I grew up idolizing a lot of television and movies and I continue those obsessions by bringing my followers secrets from places like Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood. I like to think I bring a very unique take on what it feels like to love these famous LA locations and really deep dive into their history but also where they are headed in the future. I’m incredibly proud of all that I’ve learned about Los Angeles and hope to share it with as many people who’d like to come along with me!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Social media is incredibly tricky to be successful on but I truly believe the best advice I can give anyone is just to be consistent. No one ever achieved a massive social media presence by not posting, so just post away! Don’t get too bogged down in how good your content is, especially in the beginning, If you keep at it you will get better and your audience will come along with you. Practice makes perfect and the more you put yourself out there the more you will learn and you’ll be able to fine tune your personal brand. Its easy to get discouraged because social media can give you so much and take it all away just as quickly — just keep posting!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
So far I think the friends I have made are really truly one of the biggest gifts I’ve made being a creative. The bonds you can make with other creators are so key to not only keeping your sanity but also just enjoying the ride! Everyone’s on their own path and everyone’s journey is different so there’s no need for jealousy or competition. Collaborations with other talented individuals in your niche are really important and help everyone so much in the long run.
