We were lucky to catch up with Johnny Bradley recently and have shared our conversation below.
Johnny, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I’ve been a photographer for going on 15 year’s. I started with film photography then switched over to Digital. My photography consists of Landscape, Astrophotography, and Wildlife photography. It took me many years to get where I am. I taught myself majority of what I know between research on YouTube and making many mistakes in the field. Making mistakes wasn’t the biggest key to teaching myself and growing my craft. Now I love to teach others with my workshops and the live classes I teach.

Johnny, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
So as I mentioned I am a Landscape and Wildlife Photographer. I teach classes both private and group workshops. I also book car shoots aswell. I am based out of Lemon Grove. I also sell prints of my images aswell.. My goal has always be to teach the art of photography and help this great craft grow. The last Sunday of every month I teach a 2 hour live class on Instagram with a friend from Canada. (Marcel) My girl Tara has been my biggest Supporter, Friend, and all around my better half. She has pushed me to grow into the person I am. I have also been published in the Union Tribune aswell as won some photo contest for my work. I am truly proud of what I do and I work hard to be true to what I love.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My mission I have as a Photographer is to showcase photography into a good light. To show others how great it is and teach them the love and passion I share. Photography is something we live.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
When of the best things I can tell someone about photography is to care less about what you have and care more about where you are. We all have more to offer to others. So focus on the right in front of you. Don’t compare yourself to others as there’s only one you. So make it the best you that it can be. When we learn this it frees us from the struggle of our own true self. It took me many years to realize that.
