We recently connected with John Logan Parsons III and have shared our conversation below.
John Logan, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Outside of my musical endeavors as the solo artist IMMERSER, I would say that CO-founding and running the Templar Collegia has been a very meaningful project for me. Creating an organization that gives people an opportunity to grow, and learn about the deepest parts of themselves has been incredible. Watching this organization grow over the years and getting to learn from the amazing people involved has definitely been worth the hard work! The Templar Collegia is a non dogmatic esoteric order stemming from many different occult and spiritual traditions. These traditions are something I am extremely passionate about and have been a huge factor in my life.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
The Templar Collegia is collective of initiates and mystics. Our goal is to protect, study and perpetuate the esoteric tradition in all its forms! With a focus on Gnostic, Alchemical, Hermetic, Kabbalistic, Templar, Rosicrucian and Masonic philosophies. It could be described as a probationary study program for students of different spiritual traditions. The Templar Collegia is a very inclusive organization. We look for similarities between different religions and philosophical belief systems instead of focusing on differences. I started this project as a new vehicle for very old teachings. I founded the Templar Collegia in 2017 along with my dear friend and current Grandmaster of the Knights Templar Timothy W. Hogan. Creating an interactive curriculum along with rituals designed to raise consciousness is not an easy task, But it is well worth the hard work. I’ve been involved in many different esoteric traditions over the years including The Freemasons, The Rosicrucians and Templar orders. Many of these traditions and the members involved are very misunderstood and even discriminated against in our world. I think people fear what they don’t understand. It seems to be human nature to just assume something is negative if it is secretive, but thats definitely not the case with these organizations. I can say with confidence that these traditions perpetuate the positive! however some of these organizations tend to be a bit stuffy and rigid in their approach. I wanted to create something more fluid and creative, something for the modern mystic! Many of our members with in the Templar Collegia are musicians and authors. People that are more geared towards creative endeavors and we definitely support and encourage an environment of creativity. We are also open to Men and Women so thats sets us apart from many other mystery traditions that are not co-ed.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My favorite word is Persistence. If I had to chose a word that describes my journey that would be it. Ive dealt with many struggles. losing my father to Cancer when I was four years old really impacted me. Becoming a drug addict in my teens. dealing with Bi-polar depression my entire life and also homelessness in my past as well. All of these experiences have taught me so much. I am really a proponent of Transmutation. Finding the lesson within our painful experiences is key. Using these experiences as a stepping stone towards growth instead of destruction. I’ve come a long way, and though some of the hard lessons I have faced seem like a distant memory, I still keep them close in my heart. These events have enabled me to have a more compassionate perspective. If your intentions are pure and you are persistent I believe you can heal from anything, and in fact use it as a way to accelerate your own evolution along with those around you.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Leaving a legacy is very important to me. I feel like it’s not something people really think about anymore. I look at my life as a canvas. The more colors and detail the better! I feel quite anxious when Im not creating. I’ve authored three books, written a thousand songs. Been in many bands including my current solo project IMMERSER. I feel like I’ve lived multiple lifetimes just in the last 39 years. There is so much to do and so little time. Life is fleeting and there is so much to create still. My mission is to create and experience as much as I can while I can! I want to leave a legacy. I want to be a creative conduit, A modern day renaissance man!
