We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful John Gonzalez Gonzalez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with John Gonzalez below.
John Gonzalez, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I am a self-taught artist. I learned to paint mostly through determination and a lot of experimentation in my early years. I had a lot of setbacks, but never put the brush down. With the proper time and dedication– eventually you will create something unique and true to you. In the creative industry, you have to be risk adverse and always harvest the desire to consistently learn more. After years of being an established artist, I am currently looking to enroll myself in an Ivy League Art program. I am eager to see where my creativity goes and to continue challenging myself and my skills. Never build obstacles for your self.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a 27-year-old multi-disciplinary artist. Creating artwork from true emotions and experiences– known as pioneer of “Space Art” using it as a medium to introduce the aspect of discovery, curiosity, and hope to humanity.
My connection with Space developed through a life time of personal experiences. Growing up in the Space Coast, FL next to the Kennedy Space Center the rocket launches and space culture was embedded in me as a child. Through my 10-year art career, I have been able to collaborate with the most influential space companies such as Nasa, SpaceX and a handful of amazing Astronauts and foundations. In November of 2021, my artwork was selected to fly in space along with the Inspiration 4 SpaceX Civilian Crew. It was a life changing milestone for both me and humanity as a whole. Upon the return of the space flown artwork that orbited the earth for 3 days it was auctioned off and donated for 20 thousand dollars in support of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. I strive to continue to promote Space awareness and create a true impact for the future generations through my work.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I was starting my career as an artist I spotted a gallery/restaurant in Wynwood while I was on vacation. I approached the Gallery and they politely declined me and told me I needed to develop my art more before taking that step. So, I decided to take on a host job at the restaurant to learn and be around the art and the gallery. I was so inspired, that I moved to Miami over the weekend with my luggage and three paintings in my trunk. After one year, the Gallery owner noticed my work ethic and allowed me to put one piece up- that evening during dinner a gentleman walked in and immediately connected to my work. It sold the first day it was up, that was over 8 years go and the beginning of everything. Resilience is our ability to bounce back from challenges and difficulties but it is also a major sign of passion.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
This career has taught me the power and importance of being able to create something other people gravitate and connect with- it is a god given opportunity to be a messenger for all who are also in search of meaning in this world.
I hope that those who cross paths with my art develop an experience that keeps them curious and inspired- it is the essence of human existence. To keep developing and learning- in order to improve ourselves and the world around us. I believe that the same way that astronauts are sent on missions to improve life for humanity, we are on that same mission every day. If we can search deep enough, we can find the hope and life we need to share with others.
