We were lucky to catch up with Johanna Yukiko Haneda recently and have shared our conversation below.
Johanna Yukiko , appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Unique Craft_Breathing Technique Focused on developing inner peace and unlocking your inner child. The art of craft_breathing technique, which Million Breath founder Johanna Yukiko Haneda believes learning yourself is crucial in maintaining overall mental health.
The craft_taking the time to listen and understand through your breathing is equivalent to meditation, mantras, physical activities, and guidance from professionals who will help individuals find joy in their lives. With the help of this therapeutic approach, you will reconnect with the feelings you had as a child and be able to view your world in a different light. In addition to fostering emotional growth, using this technique also aids in physical healing; it helps reduce stress levels and encourages improved overall health.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a singer named Johanna Yukiko Haneda, who debuted as a recording artist in 1988 from Sony Records and has worked with some of the most talented people in the business, including producer David Foster, Paul Anka, and more. In 2011, after the earthquake hit Japan, I decided to relocate to the US to continue pursuing my career on an international level. My primary method for personal well-being and performance technique – Million Breath – is focused on self-discovery through her breath and voice.
I was born in Japan and spent the first few years in San Francisco. It was there that the journey of self-healing began. I remember feeling spiders crawling all over her body after the babysitter read the story of spiders. I suffered from seeing illusions for some time, seeing doctors and therapists who had no clue about the cure. But I started to learn to get them under control by using and listening to her breath and humming. That was when I first understood the true power of self-healing and one’s breath. Since then, I used these techniques to overcome many challenges in my life. And each time, I was reminded of the incredible power within us.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I have been creative and determined to push through even in the difficult time. That is why I shared the critical method I use daily to maintain my well-being.
But the loss of my beloved chihuahua this year is such a significant devastating impact on my life.
I was living life without my heart singing.
Though, I continue taking the time to listen to my breathing—the art of Million Breath breathing technique.
I stopped all the new projects, I did the minimum thing that needed to be done.
I waited for the moment my breath and whole being told me what to do.
I started my routine chanting again a month later.
During this pivoting time, I see things and people from different angles.
And start to define what I need in life.
Time is valuable. And we only have one body.
We want more, but we only need things we can handle in this lifetime.
Pivoting might not be a negative thing, We all have a moment to take the time for yourself to make a better change.
Changes hurt like my life change without my beloved MJ(my chihuahua)
But reminding me of the precious time we had still kept me going.
I finished the song, the last song I(we) made, my MJ on my lap.
Nightnight Tata, a lullaby and a requiem.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
The Alchemist by Paulo Coheilo Paulo Coelho’s masterpiece tells the mystical story of Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy who yearns to travel in search of a worldly treasure.
His quest will lead him to riches far different—and far more satisfying—than he ever imagined.
Santiago’s journey teaches us about the essential wisdom of listening to our hearts, of recognizing opportunity and learning to read the omens strewn along life’s path, and, most importantly, to follow our dreams.
