We recently connected with Johann Escobar and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Johann, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The story behind my mission is rooted in a desire to make marketing more human. After years in the corporate world, I realized that so many people — especially small business owners and real estate professionals — were being pushed toward cookie-cutter strategies that didn’t reflect who they really were. I wanted to change that. I started my business to help people tell their story in a way that feels honest, elevated, and true to them. Because when your brand actually sounds like you, everything starts to click — clients connect, business grows, and marketing becomes something you’re proud of.
Johann, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Johann Escobar, the founder of Johann Escobar Marketing, a boutique creative studio that helps real estate professionals and small business owners elevate their marketing in a way that feels personal, strategic, and true to their brand. My work blends high-end media production, social media strategy, branding, and design — all with a focus on authenticity and connection.
Before launching my business, I worked in the corporate world and spent time as a real estate assistant and marketing lead for a small interior design firm. Those experiences taught me the ins and outs of building a business from the ground up, but more importantly, they showed me the power of thoughtful storytelling. I realized that I wanted to make a more personal impact — to help people not just look polished, but feel supported in how they showed up and grew their business. That’s what led me to take the leap and start my own company.
What sets me apart is my hands-on, highly customized approach. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter solutions — every business has its own voice, audience, and story to tell. Whether I’m helping a top Miami agent develop a property campaign, setting up a CRM to streamline a team’s workflow, or creating polished Reels that cut through the noise on social media, my goal is always the same: to bring clarity, consistency, and creativity to the table.
I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients — many of whom have been with me for years. I care deeply about the businesses I support, and I take pride in helping them navigate their marketing challenges with confidence. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a client feel empowered by their brand and recognized for their unique value.
At the end of the day, I’m here to help people tell their story well — and to do it in a way that actually moves the needle. If you’re looking for thoughtful strategy, beautiful content, and a collaborative partner who truly cares, that’s where I come in.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the most pivotal decisions I made was dropping out of college. It wasn’t an easy choice — especially coming from a background where traditional success was defined by degrees and titles. But I realized early on that the path I was on didn’t align with the work I actually wanted to do or the way I wanted to make an impact.
Walking away from that structure meant I had to carve out my own. I jumped into the workforce, taught myself through experience, and took on every opportunity that came my way — from real estate support to marketing roles to eventually launching my own business. It was messy and uncertain, but it shaped me into someone who learns by doing, adapts quickly, and shows up fully for my clients because I know what it means to bet on yourself.
Resilience, for me, has meant trusting my vision even when it doesn’t look like everyone else’s. I’ve built my business from the ground up — no shortcuts, no playbook — and I’m proud of the fact that I’ve turned what once felt like a risk into a foundation for helping others tell their story and grow with confidence.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
So far, my business has been entirely referral-based — and I take a lot of pride in that. It’s a testament to the quality of work I deliver, but also to the relationships I build with my clients. I’ve never relied on ads or cold outreach to grow my business. Instead, it’s been word of mouth — one happy client sharing their experience with a colleague, a friend, or someone in their network who needs support.
I think that kind of organic growth speaks volumes. It means the people I work with not only value the results, but also feel seen, supported, and understood throughout the process. That matters to me. I’m not in this to churn out quick wins or apply one-size-fits-all solutions — I’m here to collaborate, create with intention, and genuinely help people move forward with confidence in their brand.
That level of care and customization tends to stand out — especially in industries like real estate, where so many marketing services feel templated or impersonal. When clients see that I’m invested in their long-term success, not just a deliverable, they’re eager to pass my name along. And that’s the kind of growth that feels the most meaningful.
