We recently connected with Joezart and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Joezart, thanks for joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I started learning the basics of music when I was about 6 years old. Over the years I’ve realized that the most valuable thing I could’ve done starting off was mastering how to play EVERY instrument in the world. The most essential skills in music from my perspective is songwriting & dynamic voice pitch control. The only obstacles that stood in my way was the lack of connections deeper to the industry from my hometown. A major part of the game now is who you know.

Joezart , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I got into the music game young but really locked in & started to take it serious around my freshman year of high school. At first I was just doing it for the love of music but after I tragically lost someone close to me I took a break for 2 years & focused on finding my sound through constant songwriting. It took real soul searching for me to finally make the decision to start getting back on the music scene towards the end of 2015 but I analyzed the current sound & easily adapted & found a way to create my own style of music with ‘AstroRap’ which is a mix of Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, & Lo-Fi. On top of doing music I’m also an actor & I have a clothing line called ‘U Forever Official’ powered by a content creative group I founded in 2021 called ‘The Space Crew’. We mainly focus on solving community issues in urban areas & outsource our resources to those in need when necessary in times of sudden crisis. The thing I’m most proud of through this process is the loyalty my fans & supporters give me & I hope anybody looking for a breath of fresh air in the music industry will gravitate towards what I’m building!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I personally feel the most rewarding thing about being an artist is being able to connect with people you never met on a deep emotional level because the words you speak relates to their reality just as much as yours. One thing I truly appreciate on a personal level is when people actually tell me what specific bars resonated with them and how it helped them deal with their own emotions rather it be big or small.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
The best thing people can do to support artist & creatives is BE HONEST. We all have things we need to improve & perfect but sometimes people need a little verbal push to get the message & make the necessary adjustments. Being transparent with creators help them make better quality stuff for everybody to enjoy forever.
