We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Joey & Laura Martino. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Joey & Laura below.
Joey & Laura , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
Our journey to creative freedom and professional success started in 2007 when Laura and I met. We knew instantly that our connection to music and each other was special and meant to be. We both grew up dreaming of a life where we got to do what we love with who we love and music was always at the center of that. We quickly found inspiration in one another and began writing, recording, and planning our path to success. ET Studio Productions was soon born out of our desire to help emerging talent develop their artistic goals and dreams just as Laura and I had done our whole lives. Laura’s lifelong devotion to vocal artistry and certification from Berklee College of Music along with my dedication to Recording, Music Production and a degree from Five Towns College gave us the experience and confidence to guide artists to successful careers in the music business. Fast forward to today, songs we’ve written and artists we’ve developed have gained over 100 million streams, tour the world, amassed large followings on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, appeared on American Idol, The Voice, X-Factor, America’s Got Talent and continue to make music a career just as we have done.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
ET Studio Productions is an artist development company founded on the belief that with deep passion and the willingness to learn and work everyday at your craft, the journey to success while doing what you love is absolutely possible, Our studio was designed and created to be a safe and inviting place for inspiration and creativity to flow without judgement. We want artists to feel comfortable so they can explore their deepest feelings and emotions fearlessly. We have 2 recording studios each with vocal booths, a live stage room with lots of acoustic and electric instruments, and multiple lesson/writing rooms. Our hallway even serves as place of inspiration because of its unique acoustics, mood lighting, and wall of fame for songs and artists with streams ranging from 10k to 85 million and counting. This even includes members of our past and present ETSP development team: Brielle Von Hugel, Ferra, Nicolette Capua, Sara Damon, Jax, Julia Gargano, Fly By Midnight, Corvyx and Livva Jones who was recently featured here as well! We’re proud to work with all different types of artists and have been blessed to find success across many genres.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For us, seeing the impact a simple lyric, melody, or piece of music can have on a person is really moving and profound. We’ve seen music heal, inspire, strengthen and give hope to so many people and being able to play a role in that is most rewarding, more than success or accolades.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Encourage them to create daily, collaborate as music as possible, write from a place of truth, promote positivity in their art, be vulnerable and give back as much as possible.
