Today we’d like to introduce you to Joely Hackmann.

Hi Joely, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

Hi There! I’m Joely Hackmann, the owner and creator of Joely Hackmann Photography. I started my business as a freshman in high school, and began the passion for capturing the beauty of life’s most important moments. My main focus is seniors, weddings, engagements and couples.

How I Got Started: I asked my family for a camera my freshman year of high school for chirstmas . During my second sesmter I started taking sports photos for my school and taking picutures for my friends. During that summer it became clear that I had passion for it. Throught my years I have gotten hands on expereinces, constant learning and deep commitment to making each shoot memorable for my clients.

The Services I Provide: I offer a range of services with a focus of High chool/College seniors, weddings, engagements and couples.

What I’m Most Proud Of: There is so much I’m proud of, but I would say the thing I’m most proud if booking my own wedding at the age of 16. I have built my business from the ground up and turn a passion into career. I have a support family and friends that pushes me to the best I can.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I believe challenges help shape who we are. Balancing high school, schoolwork, clubs, and sports while also pursuing my passions has been a big challenge. Time management is key, but it’s not always easy to juggle everything at once.

One of the toughest moments was when my camera shutter broke in the middle of a shoot. It was frustrating, but it taught me to stay calm and adapt quickly to unexpected situations. I’ve also faced the challenge of figuring out what I’m truly passionate about. Exploring different styles of photography has been fun apart of the business, has helped me grow and discover what excites me the most.

Despite the struggles, I wouldn’t trade the journey for anything. Each challenge has helped me become more resilient, resourceful, and confident in my path

I started my business as a freshman in high school, and now, as I prepare to graduate, I’m proud of how much it has grown. I specialize in photography, capturing weddings, high school and college seniors, and couples. What sets me apart is my ability to create a comfortable and fun atmosphere during my shoots, allowing my clients to feel confident and authentic in front of the camera.

One of my proudest moments as a brand was booking my first wedding at just 16 years old. It was such a milestone that reinforced my passion for photography and showed me that I could turn my dreams into reality with hard work and dedication. Watching my business grow while balancing school, clubs, and sports has been challenging but so rewarding. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next!”
