Alright, Joel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
The easiest way to get something, whether it’s a client or an opportunity, is to add value. It may sound counterintuitive, but sometimes doing things for free can lead to exponential growth and success. The idea is to do things so well that people can’t ignore you, and eventually they will want to pay you for your services or products.
This is exactly how we got our first client, Perfect Office Solutions. We offered to create content for them, free of cost, just to show them what we could do. We worked tirelessly to deliver high quality results within 24 hours and provided value that went beyond their expectations.
It wasn’t long before our efforts paid off. Perfect Office Solutions was impressed with the work we had done for them and was eager to work with us on a permanent basis. They wanted to pay us for our services because they saw the value we brought to their business.
Looking back on that day, I did not feel anything. I don’t think I need to feel happy or prideful after doing something that is needed to grow your business. Adding value is the key to success.
Joel, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am an entrepreneur. At just 18 years old, I left my home country and flew across the Atlantic to Switzerland to learn from the best startup entrepreneurs in the business, many of who went on to dominate their industries.
With a passion for innovation and a relentless drive for success, I soaked up all the knowledge and experiences I could, laying a strong foundation for my entrepreneurial journey. Even at the young age of 18, I already the Head of Content for a prestigious watch company based in Switzerland, showcasing my innate talent for creating engaging content and capturing the consumer’s attention.
I went on to establish two companies — Mulbah Media and Mulbah Property. As the founder and CEO of both ventures, I want to continue to push boundaries and challenge the status quo.
As a multi-faceted individual, I am always seeking new ways to improve the experiences of others. Whether it’s crafting targeted marketing campaigns or spearheading innovative property developments, I approach every project with an unwavering commitment to excellence and a keen eye for detail. My drive is based around hard work and commitment.
Driven by a deep understanding of consumer behavior and the need to elevate the quality of life, I want to continue to push the envelope and break new grounds. With a focus on quality, speed, cost, and innovation, I want to continue to inspire and motivate those around me and remain a shining example of what can be achieved if you genuinely care about the needs of others.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
The easiest way to get capital for your business is to sell something. Outside funding is not needed to grow a successful business. When growing a business, you have many uncertainties, you don’t want your only certainty to be a financial payment you need to make.
The way we got business capital was by selling, and that meant testing ourselves and our business to see if this is something that could actually work— most of the time that meant doing things for cheap or free to figure it out first.
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
My favorite sales story is the sale of every one of our clients. We are genuinely committed to helping businesses, so every time a business owner see the value that we can provide to their business, it is a good thing.
