We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Joe Sigona. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Joe below.
Alright, Joe thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
A defining moment for me was making the decision to move to Miami where I didn’t know anyone and had no guarantee of income. The personal training business is a fantastic industry to be in unfortunately it doesn’t offer many guarantees. Without guarantees many would question such a decision. But I had the trust in myself and those I was going to be surrounded with to make something out of it. And looking back over a year later it’s the best decision I’ve made in my life. My trajectory for my career grew immensely being surrounded in such a strong fitness community and meeting people that are making me better every single day. It’s an empowering thing to be around powerful and influential people, it’s the law of attraction. If you surround your enviornemnt with positive uplifting energy you will feed off that energy. There have been so many lessons along the way and many more to be learned, every day I have the chance to make something more of myself and for that I’m grateful
Joe, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Joe Sigona I’m a Health and Wellness Coach in the Miami area, I work for the brand called Anatomy. There I help people find the right balance of life and fitness. From my understanding of the human body I integrate what I know into who I’m helping. Understanding that the approach starts inside the gym but goes well beyond the physical implications it takes to make a transformation. This allows me to set the trajectory, and point everyone in the right direction whether your goals are aesthetic, sports performance, Lifestyle change, or overall just feel healthier. I got into this business when I was 19, I started off through my own fitness transformation, where being in the gym helped me really discover who I really am. It gave me the confidence and discipline to take on tasks and dream up goals I otherwise never thought of.
What I’m most proud of is the fact that I get to help people discover a new version of themselves everyday. Empowering others represents what I stand for, because there is not enough good in the world and I feel that it is my job to lift others up.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
I think adaptability is a key trait to have. Being willing to drop what you know for something that is going to completely change the way you think is so vital for a long career. It’s not the average profession where things are drawn out for you each year. But knowing who you are and what you need to get better at will always feed that hunger to change and adapt.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Most people would be scared to move away from their home town with no guarantee of making money or familiarity with the place you’re moving too. Me moving cities is a big part of my journey because it taught me a lot of things. First I learned trust, trust in myself but also trust in other people, I had to take the blind faith that I would be able to build my business of personal training clients well enough so that I can sustain living. Second, I learned structure, anything that’s worth a solid outcome needs to be made by structure. I built systems and skills that carried me to high ground within my company and within my profession. Third I learned patience. Everything you want can’t all come at once, patience has taught me to embrace the journey along the way and full embody your presence everyday.
