Joe, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

So I have always had the urge to help people; this also is reflected with my main job. So I have had people around me telling me that I should make YouTube videos, and so on. So one day I decided to just to it by making educational videos on Manga and Anime. I have always had this passion to help via education or by making people laugh. So If I had started sooner, I would have a wider reach to do more charity work as well as reach out to more people. I do not regret when I started though. I have made ALOT of close life friends through doing this.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Hello everyone! My name is JoeSchmmo! I am half IRL/Vtuber Streamer and Content Creator who mostly focuses on content relating to Anime, Manga, and Video Games! I make alot of videos that are about Anime, such as reviews, discussion videos, current/topical; Same goes for Video Game and Manga. I also try to cover alot of relative breaking news and impactful events to these topics as well! I also post edited highlights of the streams/events I do over on Twitch.

On the Twitch front, I play alot of retro games and mulitplayer games. I am a video game collector with a 1k plus physical game collection; So the goal is to one day make my way through and play as many of those games as possible. I also do react streams and community nights with the discord community I have created. I also show off different collaborations I have with other content creators in the space! Just want to have the viewers learn or laugh from the experiences!

The whole reason I do all this, the editing, the streaming, the script writing; Is all to be able to reach out and do good in the world. From doing charity streams, to sharing my life stories and everything in-between. My life goal is to help people, either from laughing and forgetting about their troubles of the day, to learning about different Anime, Manga or Video Games. I never went in thinking about the money.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

So there is a negative stigma when it comes to Vtubers, let alone male Vtubers. As a Half IRL/Half Vtuber, I constantly get hate about my looks and my motives. I have had multiple hate mail/death threats come through my business email because I collaborated or are friends with the female streamer they like and follow. According to a part of the internet, I am just doing this to try and date every female, amongst other things that I don’t want to repeat haha. I do this to have fun, make people laugh, educate. I constantly ignore the hate and push back that is against me to help make a difference in this world and hopefully in peoples lives. Even if its just a smile for a couple minutes.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

It really hits home for me and very rewarding when people come to me and say stuff like: “Thank you for your story on X thing. It gave me some help with something I went through” or “Your content and streams always are friendly and welcoming.” Hearing that helps me keep going to make more and do more.
