Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Joe Nelson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Joe , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you take vacations? How do you keep things going – any advice for entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t step away from their business for a short vacation?
Yes, vacations offer an amazing way to relax and enjoy the world, while providing beautiful backdrops for photography and videography.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Hello,
My name is Joe Nelson, and I am the owner of Dronie Cronie LLC in Eau Claire, WI. I have been involved in all-things-drone for about a year now. I spent several years in law enforcement, and got to see some of the most advanced technology firsthand. I decided to venture into the drone industry to not only provide a unique perspective from above for photography and videography, but also provide services to clients looking for more thorough evaluations of property, storm damage, insurance claims, and anything else a drone is useful for.
I have hundreds of hours of drone flight time, and continue to fly on an almost daily basis. One of the more unique projects I have done thus far is a new-home construction progress project. This project incorporated high-resolution photos and videos, as well as time-lapse videography. Some of my photographs of the downtown Eau Claire area can be found in local rentals, and for sale at local venues. My Instagram page continues to grow, and is where most of my work is displayed as completed. I have traveled all across America in search of the perfect drone shot, and each one has been amazing in its own way.
Anyone looking to connect, share ideas, or collaborate can feel free to reach out through social media. I look forward to hearing from any and all who are interested.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Social media and email have been the most efficient ways to connect with clients. I also contract with organizations who work with insurance companies to book storm damage inspections and other drone inspection needs.
The business name Dronie Cronie and the modern logo design of the business make it easy for my clients to recognize my name, and it offers a catchy conversation piece when people start to refer to me as Dronie.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
One of the best parts of starting this business was the startup cost was not exceptionally high. The initial cost of equipment was the biggest factor, and I was able to cover that while paying off the equipment with drone jobs and projects.
