Joe, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Let’s go back to about 2004/2005. I was a college student at the time and I was working as a valet driver at a hospital.
Everyday I would see one of the janitors of the hospital who was an older gentleman and he would tell me each time “You’re so good at this. You should start your own company”
At that age Im thinking to myself this is way too much for me to start my own company.
I never forgot his words. About 15 years later I decided to step out and finally start my own Valet Parking Company.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ m Joe Johnson the owner of Your Parking Solutions. I have been in business since 2015 providing parking services for weddings and receptions. It has always been my goal to provide convenience to clients who may be in disarray of parking for their guests. Our motto is “Your guests, Our care. Always providing convenience with a smile. I look at each event differently and handle each individual uniquely. I never want to get use to parking vehicles that I forget the main principle which os to cater to each guest as well as the client that book with us. A wedding can be stressful enough and we want our clients to leave the parking to us.
What sets us apart from other companies is that I train my employees to be personable with the guests and engage with them. Sometimes a lasting impression can be as simple as helping an elderly person out of the car or holding a conversation with someone while they wait by asking Did they enjoy their evening or how did they enjoy the food? Those are the impressions I want to leave each and every time. This is more than just a job but it is about building a lasting relationship and impression.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The source of new clients for me has been word of mouth and advertisement. I’ve been fortunate enough to partner with an amazing event venue The Admiral Room and so many wedding planners who share my service. When I receive a referral my job is to exceed the clients expectation so that they can spread the word as well. Everything I do I make it personable but professional.

Any advice for managing a team?
My advice would be write the vision and make it plain. Your team will only be as good as you are. If the vision of the company and expectations are clear it will be easy for your team to adhere and maintain the standards of the company. Let’s be honest your team is a reflection of the owner. Hire people and manage a team that represents you and your company well. The true strength and morality of a team is shown the most when you are not around.
