We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Joe Haden a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

As a child I always knew I was an artist and it echoed in every way. From crayon masterpieces to finger-painted dreams, my artistic journey began in the tapestry of childhood. Brushstrokes of curiosity and colors of imagination defined my palette, discovering the profound joy of creating art that remains to this day.
Joe, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Embracing the title of a lifelong artist, I have found my medium in metal and the allure of found objects. The term “ making pretty,” coined by my mentor Mik Miano, became my mantra, a dedication to transforming raw materials and two aesthetic wonders. The beauty lies in the process, where design challenges become invitations for innovation. My eye for detail service as my signature, distinguishing my creations. Each piece is a testament to relentless dedication and the joy of solving artistic puzzles. Proudly, I celebrate the evolution of my craft, a journey, marked by hard work, growth, and the relentless pursuit of turning the ordinary into extraordinary.

Stepping into my workshop is a sacred dance of imagination and hard work, where the alchemy of creativity unfolds. Armed with the tools of innovation, I am bark on a journey to craft something the world has never witnessed. Imagination is the architect, shaping possibilities beyond conventional bounds. Hardwork, the diligent, Mason, transforms visions into tangible reality. Each stroke of effort is a brushstroke of uniqueness, an ode to the uncharted. In this sanctum of creation, I breathe life into the unprecedented, leaving an indelible mark on the world with each piece, born from the fusion of boundless imagination and unwavering dedication.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
In the pursuit of perfection within my art, I uncovered the liberating power of embracing childhood uninhibited creativity. The freedom to create intuitively became my compass, guiding me through the intricacies of my craft. Resilience, cultivated, through artistic trials, fortified my passion. Reflecting on my journey, a wish lingers-a desire to have donned the mantle of blacksmith during boyhood, forging a connection with the raw essence of metal. Despite this yearning, the lessons learned through casting perfection and navigating the untamed landscape of creativity have become integral threads woven into the tapestry of my artistic identity.
